Community Center: A Place to Connect, Learn and Grow

Socio-economic challenges in the urban city with the increasing cost of living and the widening income gap today have an impact on all age groups. The biggest impact can be seen in the education and health aspects of the community when this group does not have the ability to get quality services compared to the wealthy. Based on this awareness, we from Bangun Bersama Kuala Lumpur have taken proactive steps to establish a community education and preaching center that provides training and long-term education to all ages based in Lembah Pantai, Kuala Lumpur.

Community centers are vital pillars of community activities, significantly enhancing the quality and standard of living for local residents. They address and mitigate weaknesses within housing areas, serving as platforms to improve service quality and ensure residents receive the best possible support and amenities. Importantly, these centers play a crucial role in the development of young talent, providing opportunities and resources for youth to grow, learn, and contribute positively to the community.

For over five years, Bangun Bersama has been a beacon of hope and transformation in Lembah Pantai. Through a strategic initiative, the center has launched various impactful programs such as the Tuition Classes, Al-Quran Classes and various academic and technology bootcamp and seminars, all designed to uplift and empower the community.

Looking ahead, Bangun Bersama aims to expand its reach and services, aspiring to touch the lives of nearly 100,000 residents in Lembah Pantai. With increased space capacity and enhanced offerings, the center is poised to become an even greater force for positive change.

Future Projections and Needs

To achieve these ambitious goals, we need support for expenses including:

• Programs, training and seminars
• Rent & utilities
• Operation and maintenance

The target amount of RM 50,000 will fund essential services and programs such as:

• Youth identity and soft skills development courses
• Entrepreneur and economic development classes
• Personal and family wellbeing courses
• Discussion and reading rooms
• A transit center and safe space for youth
