Meet Zahra*, one of our inspiring teenage Counselors-in-Training (CITs), whose story shows why your support matters.

Our teen counselors are the heart of MYCC Camp. They:
• Guide younger campers in Islamic values
• Lead engaging activities
• Serve as role models
• Develop crucial leadership skills
• Build confidence in their Muslim identity

And then there's Asma*, an 8-year-old camper who attended MYCC Camp last summer thanks to generous donors like you. 

Coming from a refugee family, Asma found more than just a summer activity - she found belonging. Her favorite part of camp? The special bond she formed with her CIT, who helped her overcome her shyness and make new friends.

"My CIT taught me to be brave and to always say Bismillah before trying something new," Asma shares with a bright smile. 

Our campers reminisce about the time they spent with their CITs all year, showing the lasting impact a CIT has on a young camper.

Here's the challenge: Many of our dedicated teen leaders must choose between developing their leadership skills at MYCC and taking paying summer jobs to help their families or save up for college. At the same time, families like Asma's need financial support to give their children the MYCC experience.

Your donation helps provide scholarships to these amazing young leaders, ensuring they can continue to serve our communities and the ummah. It also helps us continue our tradition of welcoming refugee and underprivileged campers to our program.
