On March 19th at the Fajr (dawn prayer) at the Dar Al-Tawheed Islamic Centre in Mississauga, our congregants were subject to a violent attack.

An individual came wielding an ax and carrying numerous other sharp edged weapons, as well as pepper spray. Before he could inflict harm on any worshippers, several congregants bravely were able to stop him in his tracks. Our community shaken but not broken.

We need your support to repair the damage that has been done. Your donation will go towards three things:

1. Providing mental health supports to those who were present during the attack that morning
2. Repairing the damage caused by the pepper spray to the carpets and ventilation system at the masjid
3. Increasing security measures as we approach the holy month of Ramadan

We will be providing further comment as more information becomes available. We urge the Peel Police to continue to investigate all angles.

Our community will never be broken and we refuse to be intimidated.
