Update: 01-04-2020

Alhamdulillah, my family and I started the page to support Gardens of Peace as many close family members, including my uncle who passed away from COVID-19, my Grandfather and lots of other close family are buried there.

It holds a special place in our hearts so we wanted to do something to support them. This is one of the only ways we can during lockdown. We know the situation is only going to get worse before it gets better.

May Allah bless the team and volunteers running Gardens of Peace and make it easy for them to continue to serve our community. Ameen.

Our aim is to initially cover the cost of 10 burials at approximately £3,000 each, and we will work with Gardens of Peace to support families who cannot afford the cost of burial through this difficult time. 

About Gardens Of Peace

Gardens of Peace Muslim Cemetery is a registered charity (1152922) who are on the front line of ensuring those that pass away from the COVID-19 pandemic are buried in accordance with Islamic beliefs.

Due to COVID-19 only a limited number of immediate family members can be present at the Janaza (Funeral). They have to maintain social distancing, only coming together briefly for the Janaza Prayer.

Gardens of Peace provides the full range of funeral services in addition to burial plots at the Cemetery. The funeral services cover everything from the transport of the Janazah to arranging and carrying out ghusl and the Salatul Janazah. Their purpose built facilities at the new site in Chigwell are second to none.

Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said,

“Whoever follows the funeral of Muslim, in faith and seeking reward, and he remains with it until the prayer is offered and the burial ceremony is finished, then he will return with two great rewards. Each reward is like the size of mount Uhud. Whoever offers the funeral prayer and returns before the burial, then he will return with one great reward.”
