Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullah,

We are thrilled to announce a unique and transformative opportunity for three young adults of the Atlanta Masjid, Nurayah Deen, Maymuna Sabree, and Jahkauri Washington-Jabri.  This summer, the dedicated group of youth will embark on an intensive study of the Arabic language in Istanbul, Turkey. This journey is not just about learning a language; it's about deepening their understanding of Islam and strengthening their faith.

The People

Jahkauri Washington-Jabri, a 19-year-old young man from Atlanta Georgia, and a recent graduate from Tayseer Seminary One Year Islamic Studies Intensive Class of 2024 says: 

“ Last year I was invited to Tayseer and it sparked my love for Islam, I was hoping to fan that flame of love with the learning of Arabic so I could get closer to the Deen and also possibly teach it one-day Inshallah. Arabic is the language Allah conveyed his message, and I want to be able to understand the verbatim speech of God.”

Maymuna Sabree is 19 years old, a rising sophomore at Georgia State University and an alum of Tayseer Seminary One Year Islamic Studies Intensive (Class of 2023). She says:

“ One taste of sacred knowledge is not enough, I need more. I am deeply passionate about sharing what I have learned and equipping myself further to be able to aid and facilitate the spiritual journey of others as was done for me. Inshallah, I know, and I pray, that anything I do or pursue in the future will be elevated and more profound in impact by having a basis in Islamic understanding.”

Nurayah Deen is 18 years old and a rising sophomore at Oglethorpe University. Her love for Islam and strong desire to please Allah by learning His book have driven her to seek out this program. She says:

“InshaAllah, I pray to gain this beneficial knowledge to not only increase my comprehension of the hikma of the Quran and other Islamic texts but also to be a resource for those seeking to learn the language in which God revealed the truth.”

 The Impact

Islamic Education:  Donating to this cause is a sadaqah jariya- good deeds that keep on giving. You will be aiding three sincere young individuals in their pursuit of sacred knowledge. The Arabic language is the key to unlocking the Islamic Sciences and understanding the words of Allah SubanawaTala. The impact this has just on one soul is immense but to multiply that by anyone whoever benefits from what one person learned - leads to an infinite reward inshallah. This immersive experience will equip our youth with the tools to engage more deeply with our sacred texts.

Community Leadership and Investment: These young adults are the future leaders of our community. By investing in their education, we are investing in the future of our Ummah. They will return with knowledge and skills to share with others, fostering a stronger, more informed community for the sake of Allah.

The Program

This program is hosted by Tayseer Seminary- an Islamic studies organization that hosts numerous programs to help transform American Muslims through sacred knowledge. It is in partnership with an Arabic university in Istanbul, Turkey called Midad. Inshallah the program begins July 1st  and ends August 2nd, 2024.

The cost of flights, housing, tuition, and living expenses are all separate. We aim to raise $12,000, $4,000 for each student, to cover these costs. Your generous support can make this dream a reality.
