Why do we need to Support these Families?

As the Turkish reports there are more than 3.7 million Syrian refugees in Turkey, most of them are located in southern Turkey. Moreover, Thousands of them do not have the ability to work in Turkey due to work circumstances there, and many of those families lost their breadwinners, due to the continued Syrian war. Those are constantly suffering from a lack of food supply. In Ramadan, we fear they will go hungry beyond iftar time. There is no festivity in their lives during the holy month. They look on us for our help.

The Campaign aims to provide and distribute the Ramadan food basket for the most vulnerable refugee families in southern Turkey, to improve the living conditions and nutrition situation of people, who are fasting and have no capacity to meet their food needs during the fasting month.

The campaign will target 400 families. The provided food basket will cover the food needs of an entire family for the whole month of Ramadan.

The estimated cost of one food basket is $75. The project will give priority to the following families: Orphans, widows, divorcees, and people with special needs.

The food basket contains the following items:

Bulgur 10 kg - Rice 10 kg - Tomato paste 2 kg – Noodles 2 Kg - Pepper paste 1 Kg -  White flour 5 kg - Tea 0.5 kg - Sunflower oil 5 L - Olive oil 1L - Salt 1 kg - Sugar 10 kg - Red lentil 2 Kg - Green lentils 1 Kg – Tahini 1 Kg - Canned cheese 0.5 Kg – Mortadella 0.9 Kg – Bean 2 Kg – Chickpeas 2Kg
