Suh'bah (صحبة) is an Arabic word which encompasses the meanings of friendship, companionship, fellowship and mentorship. 

Suhbah Sessions began with a vision to create a safe and supportive space for teenage girls to connect, learn, and grow together. Founded in 2022 by a group of passionate individuals who recognised the need for a platform where young girls could explore their identity, faith, and personal development.

We are committed to fostering sisterhood, confidence, and leadership skills among its members, helping them navigate the challenges of adolescence while embracing their unique identities. The project is founded on ethical principles rooted in the Islamic tradition, however we welcome participants from any faith or non-faith background.

Suhbah Sessions aims to establish an environment that:

• is a safe space to have conversations about current and relevant topics;
• encourages sisterhood through the development of meaningful relationships;
• raises aspirations and self-confidence;
• nurtures the development of a confident identity, anchored in universal principles;
• imbues good etiquette;
• promotes the service of others.

Achievements to date: 

• Establishment of a Strong Community: Successfully created a supportive and inclusive community for members, providing a safe space where they can connect, learn, and grow together.
• Diverse Programming: Implemented a variety of programs and activities tailored to the needs and interests of its members, including workshops on leadership development, cultural enrichment, and personal growth. This includes organising a summer trip to Drayton Manor in collaboration with Masjid Ghousia.
• Community Engagement: Actively engaged with the local community through outreach events (Millfield Festival) and collaborations with other organisations (Madina Gateway Academy, Futuwwa Initiative, Muslim Scouts).
• Recognition and Support: Received recognition and support from community leaders, parents, and participants for its dedication to empowering young girls and providing them with valuable opportunities for personal and social development.

Fundraising Aims: 

1. Program Expansion: Funding to support the expansion of Suhbah Sessions' programs, including additional workshops, events, and resources for members.
2. Residential and Day Excursions: Establishing funds to ensure that all girls, regardless of financial background, can participate in Suhbah Sessions' activities and events.
3. Community Outreach: Resources for outreach efforts to engage more Muslim girls in the local community and provide them with access to the support and resources offered by Suhbah Sessions.
4. Facility and Equipment: Funding for the purchase of equipment and (potential future) rental of facilities to host events, workshops, and gatherings for Suhbah Sessions members.
5. Professional Development: Support for mentorship programs and training sessions aimed at developing leadership skills, confidence, and personal growth among Suhbah Sessions leaders and members.
6. Sustainability Initiatives: Investments in sustainability initiatives to ensure the long-term viability and impact of Suhbah Sessions' programs and operations
