Khalil Sakakini Cultural Center (KSCC) is running this campaign to maintain the sustainability of its four main programs; Land, Literature, Visual Art, and In Reach. Over the past 25 years, the center has been promoting culture and arts in all their forms, acting as a place of inspiration and empowerment for the community, artists and cultural practitioners to experiment and take action in Palestine. 
KSCC is a center for the people: through joint cultural production with the community, the center works continuously to reach a greater margin of independence in order to achieve sustainability for the programs and the center, by providing and developing alternative and diversified sources of income through various community partnerships.
Today, with the economic challenges facing us, we turn to you, our extended communities, to join us and be part of our grassroots communities from around the world to support us develop the independence of our programs, and for KSCC to remain a cultural incubator open to all.

يُطلق مركز خليل السكاكيني الثقافي هذه الحملة لدعم استدامة برامجه الأربعة الرئيسية؛ برنامج الأرض، وبرنامج الأدب، وبرنامج الفنون البصرية، وبرنامج الشراكات والاستضافات. على مدى السنوات الخمس والعشرين الماضية، شكّل المركز مصدرًا للإلهام والتمكين المجتمعي والفني لمجموعة  واسعة من الفنانين والممارسين الثقافيين في حقول متنوعة

Shrinking of Spaces for Expression and Experimentation 
تضييق مساحات التعبير والتجريب
In light of the continuous shrinking of spaces for the Palestinians in general, and their continuous attempts to confront various authorities, artists and cultural practitioners emphasized the importance of providing more spaces for creativity without the restrictions of imposed trends, seeking alternative platforms for collaborations, exploring topics and forms of their interest and shaping their own narrative. The emergence of different and new forms in the structure of artistic, cultural and societal work caused the need to raise many questions, including the role of the cultural institution in providing an interwoven structure with the community, working with and through it, reflecting on its issues to create new methods of cultural work, an experience unique to Khalil Sakakini Cultural Center.

في ظل التضييق المُستمر على المساحات أمام الفلسطيني بشكل عام، ومحاولاته المستمرة في مواجهة سلطات عديدة، وتزامنًا مع مراحل سياسية مفصلية، راكمت السنوات الأخيرة أشكال مختلفة وجديدة في بنية العمل الفني والثقافي والمجتمعي، وظهرت معها حاجاتها لتطرح العديد من التساؤلات، بينها دور المؤسسة الثقافية في توفير بنية متشابكة مع المجتمع، تعمل معه ومن خلاله، تُفكر في قضاياه لتخلق أساليب جديدة في العمل الثقافي

Over the past 25 years, Khalil Sakakini Cultural Center has served as a diverse and unique cultural platform that has fostered innovation, creativity, and emancipatory culture through research, critique and participation. It has encouraged cultural and artistic practices by offering open spaces, exchange of experiences, and opportunities for networking and collaboration, for research in social, economic and political trends. Ever since, the center holds a significant cultural, historic and national value for Palestinians in general and for artists and cultural practitioners in particular. We succeed by preserving pluralism and diversity, and through our openness to collective exploration of new artistic and societal ideas under a complex context of challenges and limited resources that we face in Palestine. 

على مدار الـ 25 عامًا الماضية، عمل مركز خليل السكاكيني الثقافي كبنية ثقافية مختلفة وفريدة عززت الابتكار والإبداع والثقافة التحررية من خلال البحث والنقد والمشاركة، عبر تشجيع الممارسات الثقافية والفنية وتقديم المساحات المفتوحة، تبادل الخبرات، وفرص التواصل والتعاون، للبحث عن الاتجاهات الاجتماعية والاقتصادية والسياسية. منذ ذلك الحين وحتى اليوم، يحمل المركز قيمة ثقافية وتاريخية ووطنية كبيرة للفلسطينيين بشكل عام والفنانين والممارسين الثقافيين بشكل خاص

KSCC’s Four Diverse Programs

Land Program - برنامج الأرض  
The ‘Land Program’ employs the garden of the Center as part of its cultural movement exploring relationships between the practice of cultivation and political sovereignty. Encouraging artists and practitioners of multi disciplines, including anthropologists, historians, architects and cultural theorists, to engage in experimental pioneering projects for artistic research, experimentation, and production through hosting artists in residence with the aim of developing the concept of ‘land as a medium’ through their initiatives, where the outputs could take different formats from workshops to exhibitions.
With your support, KSCC will be able to execute 32 farmers’ markets and 21 agricultural workshops from March till October 2022, working with 53 local farmers from different regions. This period will witness a development of a permanent organic agricultural market space for the farmers to sell their products throughout the year. 

يسعى برنامج الأرض إلى توظيف المساحات الخارجية للمركز(الحديقة والحاكورة) كجزء من الحراك الثقافي في المبنى، ويدعو الفنّانين والممارسين في تخصصات أخرى بما في ذلك المزارعين، المنتجين البيتيين، علماء الأنثروبولوجيا، والمؤرخين، والمهندسين المعماريّين، والمنظّرين الثقافيّين للانخراط والتضامن والتشارك في مشاريع تجريبيّة تقوم على مفهوم الأرض كوسيط، باحثة في العلاقات المركبة بين ممارسة الزراعة والسيادة السياسية
بفضل دعمكم، سنتمكن هذا العام من تنظيم 32 سوقًا للفلاحين، 21 ورشة عمل زراعية من شهر آذار حتى تشرين الأول 2022، سيمكننا ذلك أيضًا من العمل مع 53 مزارعًا محليًا من مناطق مختلفة، أخيرًا ستشهد الفترة افتتاح مساحة "مونة السكاكيني"؛ مساحة لسوق زراعي عضوي دائم للمزارعين لبيع منتجاتهم على مدار العام

Visual Art Program - برنامج الفنون البصرية 
Building upon its extensive experience in the visual arts sector, KSCC is expanding the ‘Visual Arts Program’ to promote research-based initiatives around critical social, political, and cultural questions. This program is based on a process-oriented approach that places importance on artistic query, research, and engagement. It targets youth, mid-career, and established artists and researchers, both Palestinian and international. 
This year, we aim to produce three visual arts exhibitions with associated events such as workshops and tours by artists and curators to engage audiences in the process of artistic critique and research. Your contribution will help us support the program through opening the spaces of the center, providing technical support, networking and organizing.

مراكمًا على تجربته المكثّفة في مجال الفنون البصرية، يعمل المركز من خلال هذا البرنامج على تشجيع مبادرات الفنون المرتكزة على البحث الفنّي، والنهج المبني على عملية الإنتاج المرتكزة على التساؤل، والبحث والتفاعل حول مسائل اجتماعية وسياسية وثقافيّة
خلال هذا العام سنعمل على تنظيم ثلاثة معارض للفنون البصرية، مصحوبة بنشاطات ذات علاقة مثل: ورش عمل، جولات للفنانين والقيمين، ليتم إشراك الجمهور في عملية النقد الفني والبحث. ستساعدنا مساهمتكم في دعم البرنامج من خلال توفير مساحات المركز للمجتمع وتهيئتها لتنظيم هذه المعارض، تقديم الدعم الفني والتشبيك

Literature Program- البرنامج الأدبي 
Capitalizing upon the center’s symbolic linkage to the two significant figures in the field of literature in Palestine - Mahmoud Darwish and Khalil Sakakini, the Literature Program encourage and stimulate the Palestnian literature production. Palestinian young and established writers develop and express themselves through exposure to diverse literary experiences and audiences.
Your support will contribute to the establishment of the "Sakakini Book Club" with the aim of sustaining the literary program for the coming years, and developing the “Theatre Lab” program in cooperation with theater groups that bring together professional artists and youth, in addition to providing the infrastructure for these groups and providing technical support. We will also be organizing around 20 different events including book launches, seminars, talks and workshops.

لطالما شكّل مركز خليل السكاكيني الثقافي رافدًا مهمًّا في المشهد الأدبي الفلسطيني، ولعلّ ارتباطه الرمزي بالمُربي خليل السكاكيني، واستضافة إحدى غرفه للشاعر محمود درويش حيث عمل فيها محرراً مجلة الكرمل، إلى جانب استضافته للعديد من الكُتّاب والمفكرين البارزين من فلسطين والعالم، ما أكسبه سمعة قيمة في المشهد الأدبي
يوفّر البرنامج الأدبي مساحة للالتقاء والحوار للكُتّاب الفلسطينيّين لتبادل المعرفة والتجارب الأدبيّة المتنوعة
سيساهم دعمكم في إنشاء "نادي السكاكيني للكتاب" بهدف استدامة البرنامج الأدبي للأعوام القادمة، وتطوير برنامج المسرح بالتعاون مع مجموعات مسرحية تجمع ما بين الفنيين المهنيين والشباب، بالإضافة إلى توفير البنية التحتية لهذه المجموعات وتقديم الدعم الفني. كما سنعمل على تنظيم حوالي 20 حدثًا متنوعًا تتضمن إطلاق كتب، ندوات، حوارات وورش عمل

In Reach Program - برنامج الشراكات و الاستضافات 
The ‘In-Reach’ Program is the heart of the Center, linking it directly to the community through offering a fully equipped space and the expertise of the staff to organize public arts and culture events for individuals, groups, and collectives. Since 2016, as part of this program, KSCC has partnered with a wide range of organizations and groups to foster more collaborative artistic and cultural production. 
This program brings the ongoing energy and life at KSCC filled with cultural and political discussions coming from a variety of perspectives. The program has the added distinctive advantage of being a low-cost program that at the same time enhances the income generation potential for KSCC through ticket sales, thus strengthening its financial self-reliance. 
Contribute to help us improve the center’s infrastructure and develop our technical resources, to be able to maintain KSCC’s role in opening its space for independent and self-organized groups for experimentation and technical exploration. 

يُعدّ هذا البرنامج القلب النابض للمركز، حيث يربطه بسياقه المجتمعي بشكل مباشر من خلال توفير فضاء المركز المُجهَّز بالمعدّات وخبرات طاقمه، لدعم فعاليّات الفنون والثقافة الجماهيريّة التي ينظّمها الأفراد والجماعات بمبادرات شخصية.  منذ العام 2016 عقد المركز شراكات مع مجموعة واسعة من المؤسسات والمجموعات. يضخّ هذا البرنامج طاقة وحيوية مستمرة مليئة بالمناقشات الثقافيّة والسياسيّة ذات وجهات النظر والتجارب المختلفة والمتنوعة. كما ويتمّتع البرنامج بانخفاض تكلفته وتوفير موارد دخل مستقلة للمركز من خلال مبيعات التذاكر، وبالتالي تحقيق الاعتماد المالي الذاتي

Why do we need you? أهمية مساهمتكم 
We are all living in a sensitive and critical phase, yet we’ve come a long way. Together we were able to be in the place where we are. To be able to preserve and strengthen it, we need to commit to the bigger goal. It is our responsibility to support community culture. Community funding is part of our strategy. With our small team, our extended community, and diverse partnerships for 25 years, we are on the threshold of achieving sustainability and independence of cultural artwork and to have a greater impact and to reach a larger segment of society through and with our community.

We emphasize our approach to the center as a shared cultural infrastructure, where the community appropriates the center as their place in town, and hence informs its programs and activities, its productions, possibilities and  its sustainability.

Khalil Sakakini Cultural Center (KSCC) is a leading Palestinian arts and culture organization that was registered as an NGO in 1996. Located in Ramallah, KSCC is housed in a unique renovated historic building, dating back to the early 20th century, based on traditional Palestinian architecture. The center is named after the Jerusalemite scholar, poet, and nationalist, Khalil Sakakini, and has housed the office of the late Palestinian poet Mahmoud Darwish. Since its establishment, KSCC has played an important role in promoting arts and culture in Palestine, through fostering cultural heritage, creativity, and literary and artistic practices. It has gained a strong reputation, locally and internationally, as an institution that celebrates culture and arts for its capacity to question; to pose alternative ways of thinking, perceiving and viewing; and to accommodate multiple interpretations and ambiguity that foster the values of critique and interpretation.

يُعدّ مركز خليل السكاكيني الثقافي أحـد أجمل مؤسسـات الفـنّ والثقافـة في فلسطين. يقع في  مدينة رام الله في مبنى تاريخيّ حجريّ صُمّم عـلى الطراز المعماري الفلسطيني الأصيل، ويعود إنشاؤه لبدايات القرن العشرين. يحمل المركز اســم العلّامة والأديب الوطنــي المقدسي خليل السكاكيني (1878 – 1953). رعى المركز في سنواته الأولى النشاطات الفنيّة والأدبيّة والثقافيّة، فقد كان حينها من المؤسسات الثقافيّة القليلة الفاعلة في فلسطين، ولذلك كان من الطبيعي أن تستضيف إحدى غرفه مكتب الشاعر الفلسطيني الراحل محمود درويش، الذي حرّر وأصدر فيه مجلة الكرمل الأدبيّة. استضاف المركز الفعاليّات الفنيّة والمعارض والمهرجانات والعروض الأدائيّة والموسيقيّة وعروض الأفلام والأمسيات الشـعريّة وغيرها من النشاطات، كما اهتم بشكل أساسي بتنمية المواهب الصاعدة. وقد اكتسب المركز سمعةً واسعة على مستوى فلسطين كلّها والعالم، حيث بـات معروفاً كمركز فنّي وثقافيّ حيوي. اليوم أصبح المركز معروفًا كمؤسسة تحتفي بالفن والثقافة كوسيلة لطرح التساؤلات وتقديم طرق بديلة ومغايرة التفكير والإدراك والرؤية، وخلق مساحة للنقد والتأويل
