Farooque Memon’s family went through a devastating tragedy and is in need of our support at this time. The family had traveled to Pakistan to see their family after many years as well as take care of wedding preparations for their eldest daughter whose wedding was scheduled for less than a month away. With wedding preparations completed, they had been waiting the last few weeks for flights to open back up to the US so that they may return. In 24 hours their whole life changed when their passenger van crashed and caught on fire in the middle of an isolated region in Pakistan as they were traveling back to Karachi.

With the local pedestrians and emergency evacuators who rushed to the scene, Farooque Uncle tried to evacuate everyone in the van, but three of his family members had already died on the spot. He lost his beloved sister Shabana, his nephew Ahmad, and his niece’s 1 year old daughter Noor Fatima. He tried pulling out those who were still alive including the drivers, his nieces and nephews and their children, his wife, and two other daughters. Farooque uncle suffered burns, his wife Ghazala suffered fractures, and his youngest daughter 19 year old Iqra is in a coma fighting for her life.
