Al-Noor Voluntary Aided Primary School is a faith ethos school that excels in promoting the academic, personal and spiritual dimensions of child development.

It works hard to create a unique environment, curricular provision and staffing that nurture the relationship of our pupils with Allah SWT. From teaching children to look closer at Allah's creation in their study of National Curriculum subjects, to fostering excellence in religious studies, as well as personal character and conduct, the school provides an excellent foundation in religious knowledge and practice that also equips them to be upstanding citizens that work hand in hand with others to make a positive difference.

What we do today to help them flourish in their educational and spiritual growth, will be a source of Sadaqah Jaariya (ongoing charity) for everyone involved in their journey of learning.

This year we are taking part in the Al-Noor Boat Race to raise vital funds for the development of a much needed multi-functional room, the 'Future Space'.

The Future Space is currently an empty shell of a room, ready and waiting to be completed. Our vision is a contemporary, calming environment with modern facilities, serving as a library, nurture and counselling room, extra classroom and training suite. This will enhance the learning provision of our pupils and nurture their mental and emotional wellbeing whilst also providing a space to hold training and classes so we can 'give back' to the community and wider society.

Emotional disorders amongst young people, particularly anxiety and depression, are on the rise. Social media is having a huge negative impact on young people’s mental health. The pandemic too has had a long term impact on the well-being of children and families through the restricted school access, isolation and stress it caused. Enhanced facilities for counselling and nurture can help remedy this and lead the work to promote the well-being of children and their families, bi-idhn-Illah.

'Read' is a Qur'anic injunction and is a key skill at the heart of all learning. A well-equipped and comfortable library is essential to attract reluctant readers that are hooked on electronic and online games to help ensure children become excellent readers and achieve highly at school and beyond.

Allah commands us in the Qur'an to “Help one another in acts of piety and righteousness..." (5:2). The school wishes to build the community and help wider society. A training suite offers innumerable opportunities for the school to give back to our supporters, community and wider society, whether through teacher training, evening classes or access to public information.

In a Sahih hadeeth recorded in Sunan Ibn Mājah, the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said:

“Verily, among the good deeds that will join a believer after his death are these: knowledge which he taught and spread, a righteous child he leaves behind, a copy of the Quran he leaves for inheritance, a mosque he has built, a house he built for travellers, a well he has dug, and charity distributed from his wealth while he was alive and well. These deeds will join him after his death.”

With such tender hearts, children are a great blessing and amanah from Allah. Through a positive environment and a gentle approach, children can be molded into righteous individuals that go on to do amazing things and make astonishing contributions to society.
