Who is Ikhwa?

Ikhwa is a community based organisation which focuses on cultivating Muslims, organising them into a brotherhood prepared to contribute to the revival of Islam and the reformation of society.

To achieve the above, our work and activities focuses within the 3 following components:

1. Tarbiyyah - The spiritual, social and intellectual development of Muslims beliefs and values.

2. SuHbah - The brotherhood, companionship, teamwork, discipline and commitment.

3. Activism – The public and interpersonal Da’wah, Civil society work/campaigns.

We develop Muslim men to create a generation of competent leaders inspired by their faith and true to their Islamic identity.

Tarbiyyah Activities

We work on the cultivation of a muslim by taking him through a stage by stage Islamic development and growth process with the aim of striving to be a Mu’min (strong believer) ready to work for Allah.

Ikhwa strives to imbue all its members with the true spirit of brotherhood that is based on the bond of Iman first and loving one another for the sake of Allah – free from tribal or material loyalties.

Activism Activities

We work to develop Muslims who are ready to contribute towards wider society and benefit others. Engaging in civil society work and campaigns that champion the issues and causes that impact Muslims and the wider society.

Activism activities include:

• Fundraising for local community projects

• Standing up against oppression and discrimination of Muslims locally and abroad

• Challenging policies that harm the Muslim community

• Coordination and cooperation with other muslim organisations

• Dawah initiatives

• Public Islamic courses throughout the year

In today’s world where individualism dominates, there is a great need to ensure that we do not fall into this as muslims. We see an amazing number of Islamic classes and courses taking place, yet it is characterised by separate individuals who come, learn and go. Through our activities, we aim to not just facilitate Islamic learning and development but to also engrain brotherhood and activism within it. We want to be like musk as described by the Prophet (SAW).
