Introducing… the Time Hoppers!

Meet the Time Hoppers: Layla, Khalid, Aysha and Abdullah! Join them on a journey through time as they explore Islamic history along the Silk Road. An exciting mission awaits our intrepid heroes, who must prevent the nefarious Fasid from sabotaging Muslim scientists'  crucial contributions to civilization. Along the way, learn about Islamic cities, classic inventions and the Golden Age of Islam.

We want players to do more than see themselves on-screen, we want them to be themselves on-screen. This is why we've included a robust character editor and put players at the center of our thrilling story. This is their journey and we are empowering them to express themselves at every step. Players can choose from a wide range of skin tones, clothing styles, accessories and coverings. Hijabs and other modest clothing items are available from the get-go, so players can choose to represent themselves authentically without compromise.

• Uncover the mysteries of the astrolabe directly from its most well-known innovator: Maryam al-Astrulabi!

• Save the Library of Cordoba with the help of Lubna of Cordoba!

The Time Hoppers are guided by Professor Habib and Dean Hafsa! Their wisdom and inventions enable the Hoppers to do what they do best: save history! 

It's gonna take an ummah-wide effort to stop Fasid. Befriend and team up with a diverse crew of allies from throughout history! 

Protect the timeline from nasty villains!

The Time Hoppers must summon all of the courage, wisdom and cunning they can muster if they hope to stay one step ahead of the evil Fasid and his devious Disciples. 

But exactly who is Fasid? And why does he have designs on the timeline? To protect history players must uncover the mystery.

What's a villain without some minions? Every level features a unique set of alchemical creatures for the Time Hoppers to fend off.

A riveting all-ages story!

Our story begins in the near-future of Vancouver in 2050. On the player's first day at Al-Aqli Academy, a chance discovery launches them on a sprawling journey through time itself! Historically-accurate renditions of Aleppo, Baghdad, Cordoba, Morroco and more await players as they learn about Islam's many significant contributions to modern civilization.

Gameplay & Mechanics

Every level of Time Hoppers represents a different time and place in history. Players are encouraged to explore each of our meticulously researched eras through a compelling narrative that places them at the heart of a grand plot to unravel time. We take our commitment to accurately representing each era seriously, so we've stuffed each level with sidequests, optional objectives and attention-to-detail that allows of grandness of Islamic civilization to shine brightly for all of our players.

The Time Lab is the player's ticket to new worlds. Players can return to the Time Lab at any point and revisit their favorites locations to their hearts' content. Sidequests and collectible artifacts not only encourage repeat visits, but enable the player to learn more each era. 

Exhilarating action is at the heart of Time Hoppers. Players unlock new skills in every era they visit, ensuring they are constantly empowered to overcome Fasid's crafty obstacles.

The main tool players will be using to fend off Fasid's attacks is the Nano-Blaster, a state-of-the-art energy augmentation that keeps baddies at bay.

Unlockable skills include The Liftboard, which allows quick traversal and opens up navigational possibilities. The Nano-Caster grants players the ability to manipulate gravity and solve tricky puzzles. The Rope Snare is a would-be adventurer's best friend, allowing them to cross treacherous gaps and explore previously inaccessible areas. Each of these skills can be upgraded as the game progresses.

Mini-games enable players to experiment with unique mechanics and take a breather from the action. Each one is incorporated naturally into the player's quest. Players will concoct chemical potions, guide animals with light, learn to use an astrolabe, and more!  

Representation for Muslim Kids

Our kids are playing games. One study* found the average child plays video games for 15 hours per week. What matters is: what lessons are these games teaching?

Are the games your children playing teaching them the right values? Another study** found only 2% of speaking roles in top Western movies belonged to a Muslim character and none of those roles were in animated films. The situation is even worse in video games: if Muslims even have a presence, they are more likely to be target practice than to be portrayed with even basic dignity.

Isn't it about time we make our own games, reflecting our Muslim identity and values? For too long, media has been used to demonize Islam and dehumanize Muslims. We can counter these damaging, untrue narratives by reflecting the beauty of our deen on our screens. The result is positive Muslim identity formation in our children and growing acceptance of Islam among our non-Muslim brothers and sisters.
