1.5 Million people die from dirty water each year. Our Thirst Relief programs lead to healthier lives, better educated communities and a route out of poverty. We’re providing safe water to communities so they can drink, wash, clean and irrigate their crops as well as hydrate their animals. With your donation, $50 USD will go towards building direct water sources.

We operate in: Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Pakistan, India, and Malawi.

Your contribution can go towards the following programs:

Water Wells and Hand Pumps: Hand pumps are installed at the household level; thus 1 to 2 families are covered by one hand pump. Deeper hand pumps are also installed at the communal level to fulfill the water needs of villages of up to 300 inhabitants.

Solar Power Water Center: The purpose of the solar wells is to provide safe drinking water through solar energy which will provide a water supply in public places.

Holistic WASH: The Holistic WASH (Water, Sanitation, Hygiene) approach includes the drilling of deep wells, improved water and sanitation at community health clinics and schools, installation of gender-friendly toilets and increased hygiene education.

Support the Economy and Educate the Community

Penny Appeal USA works with area governments to identify regions most in need and partners with builders to construct all of our wells, which means your gift also supports the local economy. During the construction phase, we also work alongside the community to teach them how to care for their wells and provide hygiene training.
