Islamic Relief - We are raising funds to provide meals for Gaza

We want to do something to help our brothers and sisters, families and children in Gaza affected by the horrible violence and destruction. Something as simple as a meal can go some way to helping them as we continue to make du'a and protest for their rights.

One hot meal is only £2 through Islamic Relief, who have a strong track record of providing aid and support in Gaza and Palestine.

Struggling civilians once more face the horror of major airstrikes, with a rapidly rising death toll and hundreds of thousands of people displaced with nowhere safe to go, worsening the already dire humanitarian situation in Gaza.

Islamic Relief is appalled by recent reports of deaths and violence, and continues to strongly condemn any and all violence against civilians. We plead with all parties to exercise restraint to avoid further civilian casualties.

At least 31,341 Palestinians have been killed and more than 73,134 injured. This number is expected to increase rapidly as airstrikes continue. Nearly 50% of deaths are children.

In the Westbank, over 330 have been killed and at least 2,750 injured.

The devastating humanitarian situation now

In the Gaza Strip, the strikes are thought to have destroyed tens of thousands of homes, and 4 in 5 people have had to flee their homes. As many are forced to seek shelter in dozens of schools and hospitals, they urgently need food and other basic survival items.

There are also serious health concerns due to poor sanitation and overcrowding. Outbreaks of Hepatitis A have been reported, which is highly contagious and is just one of the growing risks of diseases that civilians in Gaza are exposed to.

To make matters worse, the healthcare system is on the brink of collapse, due to widespread destruction and damage of hospitals. Medical facilities which are in operation are extremely inadequate and overcrowded- with reports of centres holding three times as many patients as their capacities.

The situation is extremely terrifying. I am writing these words and my house is shaking back and forth due to the intense bombing...As an adult who have lived tens of escalation in the last years, I feel terrified. I feel this time we might not be able to survive...The airstrikes are destroying everything. I can’t imagine Gaza after this ends and we survive. I can’t think of the destruction that we will see.

Islamic Relief is on the ground

As conditions rapidly deteriorate amid this latest escalation in hostilities, Islamic Relief remains steadfast in our determination to assist Palestinian families. Working closely with our local partners, we are distributing essential items to affected families.

We have been providing humanitarian relief in the Occupied Palestinian Territory since 1997, serving as a lifeline for communities struggling with the devastating effects of occupation, blockade and recurring conflict. As Palestinian families face fresh suffering in Gaza, Islamic Relief is calling on supporters to help us provide much-needed humanitarian aid.

With your support, Islamic Relief will remain a lifeline for Palestinian families. Please give generously to our Palestine Emergency Appeal now.

Al-Noor Foundation

Supporting Al-Noor Foundation in the Al-Noor Fun run will help Al-Noor continue to have an impact with young people in the community. It will enable us to support 4-11 year olds through the Qur’an development programme, 8-12 year old through the Qur’an Story time programme, 12-16 year old through the Al-Noor Youth programme and 16-22 year old through the Al-Noor Careers development programme.

About

Established in 1997, the founders of Al–Noor Foundation set off with a dream to make positive impact within the locality. The initial goal of providing a balanced education that prioritised both academic excellence and good character. The establishment has since branched out to serve the community at a wider reach with various projects.

Our Projects

With your assistance, Al–Noor Foundation has assembled numerous successful developments benefiting the community.

Al–Noor Primary School

The first project initiated with a faith based primary institute which is considered the second most subscribed in East of London.

Al–Noor Youth Development Project

The Al-Noor Youth Development project will offer a safe space for boys and girls aged 12-16 to practice the skills they need to navigate adolescence.

Al-Noor Qur’an Story time

A fun way to learn about the stories in the Qur’an, the Al-Noor Qur’an story time is a live and interactive online session, with interactive delivery, quizzes and guest speakers.

Al–Noor Career Guidance

This specific project assists youth aged 16-22 with the most important part of teen to adolescent life transition. Providing counselling, to tailor their career life based on the individual’s lifestyle and passion. We help to inspire young people and adults to achieve their career goals through the development of skills, attitudes and ambition to reach their full potential

-Other Projects

Through numerous events and platforms Al–Noor Foundation are constantly striving to engage with the community to encourage families to connect. Focusing on teen development and most importantly nurturing the infants.

The famous dragon boat race has become one of the largest family funday in East London, connecting over 50 charitable organisations and raising an excess of £1M circa.

Al-Noor family festival has been ongoing for the last 19 years which has attracted over 165,000 people. Last year alone, despite the rain, over 5,000 people visited with families - bonding and making memories.

Your contributions…

Through your endless support, Al–Noor Foundation have been able to deliver these projects. To ensure the organisation continues to provide for the community, we must raise awareness and donate what we can. Your contribution today will aid in one of the mentioned project and will also benefit you in the hereafter.

Our beloved Prophet Muhammad sallalahu ‘aliha wa sallam said,

“When a person dies, his deeds come to an end except for three, Sadaqah e Jariyah, a knowledge from which benefit is gained, or a righteous child who prays for him” (Muslim)

Al-Noor Foundation strongly believes in making a positive change to the lives of the individuals, families and communities which we impact on a daily basis. Tarbiyyah is at the heart of this, and alongside the spiritual and intellectual development of our stakeholders, we believe the physical development is just as important.

This physical development is embodied in our Annual Fun Run, where the Foundation has partnered with 313 Fitness, and a number of primary and secondary schools, to endorse the benefits of running to children and adults, but also provide them with an opportunity to raise money for their respective causes in'shaa'Allah.

The funds raised by Al-Noor runners will go towards helping build the largest Muslim secondary school in the UK in'shaa'Allah. We have chosen LaunchGood as our official fundraising platform for this event whom we work closely with for our fundraising events.
