As the land on which the first place of worship was built and as the land that saw the birth of the greatest man to ever live, the spiritual weight that Mecca carries within us is beyond articulation. Allah overlooks all those who trek to the holy city, engulfs them in His mercy while they are there, and graces them with moments that serve as spiritual anchors for when they leave. A moment, perhaps, during tawaf where His boundless mercy allows for reassurance that our innermost desires were heard by the All-Hearing. A moment of charity done in secret, seen only by the All-Seeing. A moment of clarity, direction, and purpose on how to serve Him by serving others; guidance only by the One Who guides.
