Our Mission

Our mission is to create a welcoming, non-sectarian, and non-partisan environment that provides accessible spaces for worship, learning, and community engagement.

Guided by religious principles and inspired by the traditions of masjids, we aim to:

• Preserve and promote religious values for current and future generations while serving the wider community.
• Provide contemporary and inclusive facilities for worship, education, health, fitness, and recreation.
• Foster unity across diverse ethnic groups and generations, building compassion and shared responsibility.
• Support spiritual growth, social interaction, and knowledge-sharing within the Muslim and broader community.
• Achieve long-term financial sustainability (waqf) and environmental stewardship through innovative revenue streams and eco-friendly practices.
• Revive the masjid’s role as a hub for spiritual, intellectual, and social leadership, nurturing ambassadors and role models.

Services

Masjid Al-Ummah will be more than a place of prayer. With Allah (SWT)’s help, we plan to offer:

• Health and fitness: A private, well equipped gym facility.
• Nursery: An early-education environment for children.
• Food bank: Serving the homeless and vulnerable in the wider community.
• Quran classes and Islamic education: Supporting future hafiz.
• Social spaces for elders: Welcoming areas to foster connections.
• Youth spaces: Gaming rooms, mentorship programmes, and recreational activities.
• Sports hall: Promoting healthy living for all.
• Digital library and study hubs: Quiet, resource-rich spaces for learning.
• Mortuary services: Supporting the community in times of need.
• Charitable services: Establish Ar-Rahmah Trusts' office to provide poverty relief in South Asia.

Plan

In January 2025, we raised £3.5m in Qardh Hasanah to purchase the St. Thomas’s Church site. We now need to repay the short-term Qardh Hasanah before starting the renovation and bring this vision to life.

Our Timeline

• 2025: Begin renovations with your donations and the help of Allah (SWT).
• Summer 2026: Open the doors of Masjid Al-Ummah as a thriving hub for the community.
