The UCONN MSA has made large strides this past year to create a welcoming environment for Muslim students on campus. We have expanded our leadership to create an organized base of 62 board members. We are making investments in leadership by providing training and promoting a culture of education to create “Shariah-Compliant activists”. The board trip to MSA Showdown in Dallas, TX was an opportunity for students to develop themselves and connect with like-minded individuals. General MSA expenditure was $28,000+, $12,000 of which was donated, $4,000 from sponsorship/sales and $9,000 from university funding. Ramadan expenditure has risen this year to an additional $22,000+ as attendance continues to grow. $14,400+ of which was donated. We have combated islamophobia on campus and worked hard to speak against the Palestinian genocide.
