Stop World Hunger Again?

Salam! You may have heard of MSA @ USF last year when our MSA raised $3,000 to pack 10,000 meals to help stop world hunger. This Ramadan, MSA @ USF is trying to double that and raise $6,000 to pack 20,000 meals!

There are millions of people worldwide who do not have the bare essentials (food, shelter, and water) to live. This is an opportunity for us Muslims to "Practice what we Preach." With your help we can prepare a minimum of 20,000 meals to give to the poor all over the world, possibly even more!! Imagine being a part of feeding 20,000 people who barely have enough food to make it through each night. Imagine the dua, prayers, and gratitude that each of them will express towards you.

Just like "Stop World Hunger" we also have a vision to eliminate world hunger from this world. No one should die because of starvation, and with your help we can prevent a minimum of 20,000 people from starvation.

So How Does It Work?

• We raise the money and partner with Rise Against Hunger to bring food and packing supplies to USF.
• Once the food is here, we host a packing event with 100-200 volunteers to pack the food.
• The packing event lasts about two hours, and we also feed you 😋
  
• Rise Against Hunger distributes the food and gives us updates and pictures from the final destination.

Rise Against Hunger distributes meals through feeding programs operated by partner organizations in developing countries that promote education, encourage children to attend school, improve students’ health and nutrition, stimulate economic growth, fight child labor, and are part of the movement to address global issues.

How You Can Help?

Every meal costs .29 cents and we want to pack 20,000 meals. That costs us about $6,000. This is where you all come in! The more money we raise the more meals we can pack. Help us reach our goal of ending world hunger one meal at a time!

What If We Exceed Our Goal?

Once we achieve our goal, all extra money raised will go towards funding the food packing event! We plan to host the packing event simultaneous to our annual Fast-a-Thon. What better way to celebrate the blessing of fasting, than to do so by packing meals for the extremely hungry?
