Who is Al Isharah?
Al Isharah makes Islam accessible to the Deaf community. We are a unique organisation that has been providing our services for over 15 years now! 

We provide specialist Islamic classes for Deaf children in Sign Language, we teach Deaf adults, interpret Khutbah’s into BSL and we are in the process of translating the Qur’an into British Sign Language. We do this, so like every other person, Deaf people can worship Allah (swt) upon understanding. 

We consider that we are fulfilling a communal obligation (fard kifaya) on behalf of the Muslim community through our specialist team comprising of  Deaf and hearing Teachers, Interpreters, audiologists, Consultants and Communication Support Workers, 

Alhamdulillah, we have been able to set up various other services including
- Deaf Marriage service
- Deaf Umrah / Hajj
- Monthly Islamic lectures
- Access to imams & scholars for day-to-day struggles
- And our most notable project: The BSL Quran Project

How can your donation help the Deaf Community?

We need the help of the community to support these essential services. Your donations will be an ongoing charity (sadaqah jaariya) inshaAllah. 

The Prophet (saw) said,  “When a person dies, all their deeds end except three: an ongoing charity, beneficial knowledge, and a child who prays for them.”

(Sahih Muslim)

• We will continue to translate the  Quran into British Sign Language
• We will continue to create Islamic video resources
• We will provide specialist classes for Deaf children
• We will provide interpretation of the Khutbah in to British Sign Language
• We hope to establish more branches of our school across various locations
• We are also on a drive to create resources and continue delivering our services for the Deaf community. Using these available resources, Deaf people will learn basic things such as how to make wudhu, how to pray, and how to recite Quran (for oral Deaf people).
