Water For Life Projects in Pakistan, Bangladesh, Somalia, Syria, Palestine & Yemen

Access to water is a basic human right which many communities are still restricted from, which leads to numerous associated health problems.

In this project we have listed three regions where this need is particularly dire. Your support for any of these projects will ensure these vulnerable communities have access to fresh clean water.

Syria Water Truck

Displacement of people, overcrowding of camps, and the recent devastation from the earthquakes have increased the need for fresh, clean water. 

£600.00 will provide drinking water for 100 families for 30 days.

Help Provide Water to Families in Yemen

The water crisis in Yemen is pressing urgent matter. Immediate action is needed to improve access to clean water and sanitation and prevent a public health catastrophe. 

We will install the required water pump and rehabilitate a water tank in the well area. The rehabilitation will include supplying pipes and installing solar power for sustainability purposes, reducing electricity interruptions and improving access to drinking water through adequate water supply systems.

By donating to this project, you will be making a real difference to the lives of 4,200 people in Yemen. 

£850 will provide ten families with access to water for life.

Build a Desalination Water Filtration Plant in Palestine

Access to clean water is a major concern in Palestine, where the population relies on a heavily polluted and over-exploited coastal aquifer. 
This project will help build a water well in Palestine that will be equipped with a photovoltaic solar system and a desalination plant.
This project will provide people in the local community with clean, safe drinking water and help families living in the area provide for their children. 

£1,440.00 will provide access of water to a person for 12 months.

Build a Water Well in Pakistan

Access to clean water is a major need in Pakistan. According to UNICEF, approximately 22 million people in Pakistan do not have access to safe drinking water, and 40 million do not have access to sanitation facilities. The country suffers from water scarcity, with many areas experiencing chronic water shortages. Poor water management and lack of infrastructure have led to water pollution, which has further exacerbated the issue. 

To address this issue, we will install solar panels and pumps in rural areas of Pakistan, bringing clean, potable water to 200 people per well. The solar energy used to power the pumps will be renewable which will help reduce electricity costs while providing a reliable source of water. 

£2,000 will provide water to 200 people from one water well. 

Bangladesh - Water Well

Bangladesh is a nation that is facing tremendous humanitarian needs. With a population of more than 160 million people, Bangladesh has been dealing with natural disasters, poverty, and inadequate healthcare. The country is home to more than 1 million refugees and displaced people. 

Cox Bazar, Bangladesh is home to a large number of communities who are in need of access to clean, safe drinking water. To address this, we are implementing a hand pump project to provide a sustainable water source to the people in this area.

The water well project will provide a cost-effective and efficient solution for accessing water for drinking, cooking, and other domestic uses. 

We will be working with local communities to ensure that the wells are well maintained and properly used. We will also provide training and education to communities to ensure that they understand how to maintain and use them.

£2,240.00 will provide water to 150 people from one water well. 

Water for Somalia – Water Well

Somalia has been dramatically affected by the recurrent droughts and long-running conflict. As a result, overpopulated camps are encroaching everywhere in the main cities, with a severe lack of healthcare, WASH, and other humanitarian needs. 40 per cent of the Somali population need emergency life-saving WASH assistance and 3.5 million need urgent access to safe drinking water.

The project aims to build tube wells with handpumps in villages in Somalia to improve access to safe, clean water in targeted communities. Community members will receive training on water management, water conservation, enhanced hygiene and sanitation and improved environmental protection i.e., tree planting.

£3,400 will provide 1 well and training, serving approximately 30 households.
