Whoever the water hand pump or water well is donated on behalf of will receive a reward for every drop of water consumed, even if the water is consumed by an animal or the plants. A water hand pump is a small water unit that can be installed in front of someone's house and is given to eligible zakat recipients. It's a simple device that pumps up water from deep beneath the ground. You can also donate these as part of your Zakat or as your Sadaqah. If you're donating on behalf of someone else, you should give your donation as Sadaqah. 

What Is A Water Hand Pump?

A Water Hand Pump is sometimes also referred to as a Tube Well, it is a small water well that is installed in the courtyard outside of the house. The Water Hand pumps that we install are given to one household, meaning that they own it, however, it is usually shared by up to 10 neighboring households. 

Can You Give This As Zakat?

Because the water hand pump is given to a household and they are they become the owners of it, you can give the water hand pump as part of your Zakat. 

Will I Receive Feedback?

Anyone who donates for an entire water hand pump will receive feedback after 9 months. Although these water hand pumps will be installed as soon as possible, it may take up to 9 months for our teams to collate the pictures of your water hand pump, produce a report and send it to you. We will not be able to send you your feedback in Ramadan as this is when our teams are the most busiest, delivering aid and ensuring that people in need receive the donations you provide for them. 

Can I Put A Name On The Wate Hand Pump?

If you donate one or more water hand pumps, you can put a name on a name plaque, there is a limit of 30 characters including spaces. We will include the name of the donor and the name of the person you are donating on behalf of.
