Water is Life. Help to build water wells in rural areas across East Africa.

We are a team of social entrepreneurs and non-profit professionals who decided to start our own specialty coffee business, working with farming communities in East Africa.

Earlier this year, our team had the chance to visit coffee farms in Ethiopia and Kenya.

The entire farming community would walk miles to the nearest water pump station. Women and children would carry heavy jerry cans under the hot sun for hours. Many families we spoke to were barely able to make ends meet. These families were living on a little more than $1/day. They sell their coffee to large conglomerates who pay them pennies on the dollar for some of the best coffee in the world.

By providing them access to clean water in close proximity, children can use this time and focus on school. This means healthier and safer water, better education for children and more focus on improving conditions.

LET’S WORK TOGETHER

The water crises is getting out of control but we can work together to help as many communities as possible. We are partnering up with international and local NGO’s to offer sustainable solutions. Farmers who were already struggling with their harvest now no longer need to worry about access to clean water.

MIZAR COFFEE

Our search for the world’s finest coffee began with a simple journey back in 2012 as nonprofit educators empowering African communities through education and entrepreneurship. We witnessed the devastating impact that poverty, limited access to clean water, and poorly managed school facilities had on communities. We knew something had to be done.

Working in Ethiopia, we were given the opportunity to learn about the craft of coffee and how one of the only source of income for farmers is through the export of coffee beans.

We are a group of social entrepreneurs who were inspired to help specialty coffee farmers in countries like Ethiopia, Kenya, and Yemen to showcase their beans to the world.

We care about educating our consumers.

We care about sourcing top quality coffee from around the world.

But most importantly, we care about the livelihood of our farmers and their communities. Your donations are much appreciated!

UPDATE #1

Assalamu Alikum,

We're back from our trip from Ethiopia and Kenya and excited to share some updates with you! We spent a considerable time in Sidama, Ethiopia to plan the delivery of the water project. The original plan was to build 1 large water well in a central location in 1 village we elected to construct. However, after speaking with our local partners, we decided it would be beneficial to have water pipelines connecting to natural springs in 10 locations instead. That means 2 villages with a total of 20 water pipelines and more people we can help!

After spending time with the community, we found this to be the best solution to resolve the water crises in the Sidama region of Ethiopia. The Mizar team knew from then on, we must actively listen to the needs of the community on this delicate issue. We felt at home as the entire village greeted us upon our arrival and the children accompanied us through a steep hike down the natural spring. Nothing beats seeing their smiles under the hot African sun knowing soon they will have access to clean water and their lives will just become a little easier and safer.

The construction of 20 water pipelines between Bombe Mountain and Shantawane in Sidama, Ethiopia is being prepared, but we still need your help.

We need to raise 5,000 dollars more to commence the construction. Let's make this change together, inshallah!

Thank you for all your donations.
