Improving access to clean safe water in Bugwere sub-Region of Uganda

For many years, Uganda has experienced economic growth, leading to large population movements from rural areas to urban centers. High population growth nearly triple the global average – stressed the water and sanitation services that exist. 65% of Ugandans lack access to safe water and 70% do not have access to improved sanitation facilities.

Many people in Uganda drink pond and steam water that is shared with animals, and washing clothes which is not safe to humane life.  To access safe water, people usually have to walk long distances of about 3 kilometer average and spend over two to three hours waiting for water in que.

Help us raise $ 3,000 USD to provide clean safe water to the rural communities in Uganda.

How our work helps the Muslim Community

Right now, millions of Ugandan rural communities suffers from a lack of clean water supply. The communities has undergone unheard human miseries due to constant droughts and unreliable rainfalls. The country is still in a water crisis. The more concerning problem is no the scarcity but the quality of the water.

Lack of safe water and sanitation is the world’s single largest cause of illness.

Many rural masjids and schools have no access to safe water for drinking and performing abolition and access to good sanitation facilities. This has greatly increase on the water borne diseases, delay in prayers etc…

42% of households have no toilets, and have no access to safe water.

The toll on children is especially high. About
4,500 children die each day from unsafe water and lack of basic
sanitation facilities. Countless others suffer from poor health,
diminished productivity and missed opportunities for education.

The community relies on water from wells, steams and ponds which run dry if droughts persist and unsafe for human life, thus putting their life at risk. Many families have been affected by diarrhea and cholera due to unsafe water.

The young and the old are particularly vulnerable.
Over 90% die from diarrhoeal diseases due to unsafe water and
sanitation in the developing world occur in children below 5 years old.

Kibuku Community Centre will did shallow water wells and also repair broken wells to provide clean safe water within Bugwere Sub-region of  Uganda
