Water Well in Memory of Sunaban Khatum

As a form of Sadaqah Jayraiya, this water well is built in the memory of Sunaban Khatum.

Bangladesh has one of the fastest-growing economies in South Asia. However, its economic growth has not benefited all areas of the country equally. Out of its population of 171 million people, 70 million people (40%) lack access to safe water, and 118 million (69%) lack access to a safe toilet.

One of Muntada Aid’s core values is providing dignity to the people we support. Keeping that in mind, we aim to provide clean water solutions to people within their communities and ease off their burden of daily searching for freshwater resources.

The well will be constructed in an area without access to clean water for drinking and cooking.  

Muntada Aid will use a manual tube well system to construct, and the well is designed to last at least a decade.

The well is constructed within a community where a cluster of families can use it.
