My father, Yousef Mousa Algabri, was brutally shot and killed on January 14, 2021, in Detroit, Michigan, while working as an Uber driver. My father was a very humble man who wanted nothing but the best for his kids and family. He always put family and deen first, no matter what. My father was always reminding us of salah and the afterlife, constantly giving us advice and lessons on how to stay humble and never forget who our Lord is. 

My father was a hard worker, religious, caring, and such a gentle and forgiving soul. He always forgave those who hurt him and never held grudges. A few hours before leaving the house to work, right before he was killed, he gave me a hug, placed his hand on my head, and made dua Allah protects me from all harm. My father has always worked hard to provide for his family. He regularly  reached out to his siblings, making sure they had what they needed, and if they didn't, he helped them no matter what, even when he didn't have much. He always helped others who didn't have any family to help out. He has never once asked for any help; even when he was struggling, he kept it from everyone. He was an amazing father and friend to me and my three other siblings.

In honor of my loving father, I hope to give back the love he has shown me and my siblings by building him a well. This well will be built in Nigeria, and InshAllah, with the help of my family and many others through this campaign, we'll be able to reach our goal.
