This project is being organized by the MSA chapter at Wharton High School. This is our second year as a club and we are very happy with the way that things turned out. A handful of people signing up for our club would have satisfied us just like any other club at our school, but we had over three hundred people sign up for our MSA; after every club day we have more people asking us if it's not too late to join.
The students in our MSA come from diverse backgrounds with different ethnicities and religions. Our MSA seeks to inform these students on what Islam truly is by clearing up common misconceptions portrayed of Islam in the media. Another goal of our club is to provide our members with volunteer opportunities to give back to the community.
Last school year we organized our schools first Refugee Fun Day. Going into it, we weren't sure of how the turn out would go, but the results were amazing. It was a day full of fun, laughter, and love.
To accomplish all our goals, we need help with funds. We have become a much larger group this year which means more mouths to feed and hearts to keep happy. We have so many plans like multi-cultural day, a second refugee fun day, and many club surprises for our members.
