Join us to help build the first Chinese mosque in Selangor, Malaysia

Malaysian Chinese Muslim Association (MACMA) is a registered NGO with the Registrar of Societies Malaysia on 8 September 1994.

The proposal to construct a Chinese architecture designed mosque was mooted and planned by the Selangor State Islamic Religious Department (JAIS), Selangor Public Works Department, MACMA and related agencies since 20 December 2017.

The proposed Chinese architecture designed mosque was presented for the first time to HRH Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj Ibni Almarhum Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah AlHaj on 28 November 2018 at Istana Bukit Kayangan and was assented on 7 May 2019/2 Ramadan 1440H. The Chinese mosque was given the name of Masjid Jamek China Muslim Klang.


The Mosque is located at Botanic Town, Klang, Selangor, with a land area of 2.98 acres that can accommodate up to 1,000 congregators . This is the fifth (5th) Mosque with Chinese architecture in Malaysia besides Kelantan, Perak, Melaka and Negeri Sembilan.


The concept of planning this Mosque is based on the central axis with clear space divisions with the use of courtyard. It has a unique mosque tower or minaret which features Chinese architecture and its prayer hall’s roof will be installed with traditional Chinese tiles, garden areas can be used as an additional prayer space, use of wood elements in the main prayer area and writing of Chinese Islamic calligraphy decorate the mihrab space. In addition, the library facilities, lecture rooms, management offices, Imam rooms, stopover rooms, souvenir shops and restaurants will also put in place.

The construction cost of the Mosque is estimated at RM30 million and the construction of the mosque will be developed by the Selangor Public Works Department. The Selangor government will fund partly of the construction cost of the Mosque while the rest is raised by MACMA through the collection and contribution of the public.

We need another approx. RM 8,978 million

The Ministry of Works has started the construction works in July 2020 and completed approximately 67% in October 2022. We need your help to reach our goal, InshaAllah!
