I hope this email finds you well. I wanted to share some photos and a video from the latest distribution of roughly 2,000 TravlerPack sleeping bags in central Gaza. The distribution was facilitated by our on-the-ground partner United Palestinian Appeal (UPA).

This is a direct quote from one of the recipients from the last distribution: “This sleeping bag is the most important thing in this tent because the tent is too cold for the children. It should be in every tent, and available for all families especially those with children.”

Salaam. We want to share a very important video from the distribution of TravlerPack sleeping bags in Northern Gaza. This type of meaningful impact is only possible because of your support!

This video was taken by our partners United Palestinian Appeal (UPA) and Palestinian Agricultural Relief Committee (PARC) who are on the ground in Gaza. 

The sleeping bags in this video are from the 3,000 sleeping bags we were able to send to Gaza this past winter.

With your very generous contributions, we are also making another 2,000 TravlerPack sleeping bags to send to Gaza this upcoming winter.

Salaam. We want to share some great news about our campaign: 3,000 of our TravlerPack sleeping bags have made it into Gaza! 

This is in large part due to the great work of our partners United Palestinian Appeal (UPA), Jordanian Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO), and Palestinian Agricultural Relief Committee (PARC).

Of these 3,000 TravlerPack sleeping bags, 1,000 bags were passed onto the UNRWA and 2,000 bags were passed onto UPA and PARC for distribution.

These past few weeks, UPA and PARC have been distributing bags to displaced Gazans in shelters throughout Northern Gaza. We have attached a few photos from these distributions. 

With your very generous contributions, we are also making another 2,000 TravlerPack sleeping bags to send to Gaza this upcoming winter.

Ramadan Mubarak,

We have a quick update to share: 1,000 TravlerPack sleeping bags were distributed in the Jerash Camp in Jordan by our local partner United Palestinian Appeal (UPA). These sleeping bags were distributed to displaced Palestinians this past winter. 

TravlerPack also asked UPA to conduct a survey to help better understand the winter living conditions and what role a TravlerPack sleeping bag might serve in keeping these displaced Palestinians warm.

During this distribution, UPA noted the heavy economic burden that camp residents face due to the rising cost of heating materials when combined with the scarcity of work and the inflated cost of food and medicine.

For families that rely on a single source of heat like burning gas, kerosene, or wood, TravlerPack sleeping bags provided “consistent protection from the extreme cold, particularly at night” according to UPA. TravlerPack sleeping bags alleviate “the need to keep firewood refreshed and lit until morning.”

During the survey, UPA interviewed several families to learn more about the potential impact of receiving TravlerPack sleeping bags. One head of household, Rula, specifically told UPA that “the [sleeping] bags were instrumental in saving us money that would have been used to purchase heating materials.” Instead, Rula and her family were able to use the saved funds to buy much-needed food and medications.

Another head of household, Um Hasan, told UPA that her family typically relies on a gas heater to stay warm however, they only run it at night to save on cost. Now that she and her family have received TravlerPacks, Um Hasan says her family can “sleep without using the gas heater at night” while also noting that TravlerPacks are “a safer way to stay warm, especially while asleep.”

Additionally, we have also sent another 3,000 TravlerPack sleeping bags to UPA for distribution to displaced Palestinians. We hope to send many more sleeping bags to keep more innocents warm.

I wanted to write a quick update that we are now making 1,000 sleeping bags instead of the original 500 sleeping bags. Our fundraising efforts have gone well.

Hello everyone,

We hope this email finds you well! Thank you so much for your generosity so far. 

We have gone ahead to schedule production of 500 TravlerPacks and are discussing with United Palestinian Appeal how these bags can be distributed to Palestinians in Gaza this winter.
