The Haven VVF Foundation is an initiative focused on providing corrective surgeries and other support services for women living in Africa, starting with Nigeria affected by VVF. Join is in empowering women and helping them recover this Ramadan!

At HVVFF, we provide women with tools to deal with VVF, eliminating or minimizing some (if not all) adverse effects associated with the condition. We are proud to work with local VVF centres in Nigeria, as a registered local NGO.

VVF Vesicovaginal fistula is an abnormal fistulous tract extending between the bladder and the vagina, allowing the continuous involuntary discharge of urine into the vaginal vault. It is almost the same for RVF Rectovaginal Fistula, only that the release is stool.

Both conditions are caused by obstructive labor, which most often occurs when an under-developed female is impregnated. Labor time is extensive, with little to no access to medical care. 

At the Haven VVF Foundation, we will be training these women with different real-life skills that will help them reintegrate back into society. After they are down with the training, we set them up to start a business of their own. Some of the training programs are tailoring, candle making, soap making, fan making, etc.

The funds for this campaign will be used in the following way:

- Surgeries for 20 women/girls for $12,000.

- Psychological/Rehabilitation program (e.g., tailoring, candle making, soap making, etc.) for $2500 for the 20 women.

- Documentary and media: this project will be filmed in a documentary for $3,500.

- Haven VVF Foundation logistics for the project is $1,800.

- Organizational expenses for the Haven VVF Foundation are $1,200.

- Salary Expenses are $4,000.

The Facility above is the Mariam Abacha VVF Center in Sokoto, Nigeria where we have gotten approval to come and sponsor surgeries for the women and girls living with VVF in this particular center.

In this picture, our founder visited Gambo Sawaba General Hospital in Zaria Kaduna Nigeria. She went to do some research on VVF women in that center and to meet women who have had corrective VVF Surgeries done. The two ladies on the left and right got a successful corrective VVF surgery done and are now living a normal life.
