Over 72% of Sylhet division is under water, let's help them immediately!

Northern Bangladesh has been particularly badly hit by severe weather, which has prompted some of the worst flooding in the region in years and left some towns cut off.

And now, more than 72 percent of Sylhet division is under water!

Sylhet, in northeast Bangladesh, has seen villagers wade through streets that were flooded up to their knees.

Out of four districts in Sylhet division – 89 percent area of Sunamganj, 72 percent of Sylhet, 70 percent of Habiganj, and 50 percent of Moulvibazar was submerged.

Some Bangladesh government officials have described the recent flooding as the country's worst since 2004.

"Perhaps more area has been submerged in the Sylhet division after these satellite images were taken. The Sylhet area will be snapped again in the early morning, tomorrow (19 June, 2022 Bangladesh time) from which we will get an updated information," said Palash Basak, a former graduate of Dhaka university.

The Flood Forecasting and Warning Center (FFWC) said, the water level will rise further in the Sylhet division as heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely in the Sylhet division in the next 24 hours.

People try to survive as monsoon rains swamped huge areas of the country, leaving millions of homes underwater in Sylhet, Bangladesh on June 18, 2022.

The flood was triggered on Wednesday (June 15, 2022) due to torrential rainfall in the north-eastern districts, and the flash flood in upstream India's Meghalaya and Assam where record-breaking rainfall was recorded.

More than 40 lakh people remain marooned in different upazilas and towns while other areas are on the verge of being inundated in the Sylhet division.

"The whole village went under water by early Friday and we all got stranded," Lokman, whose family lives in Companiganj village in Bangladesh, told AFP news agency.

"After waiting a whole day on the roof of our home, a neighbor rescued us with a makeshift boat. My mother said she has never seen such floods in her entire life," the 23-year-old added.

Flooding in Bangladesh worsened on Saturday morning after a temporary reprieve from the rains the previous afternoon, Sylhet region chief government administrator Mosharraf Hossain told AFP.

“The situation is bad. More than four million people have been stranded by flood water,” Hossain said, adding that nearly the entire region was without electricity.

Forecasters said the floods were set to worsen over the next two days with heavy rains in Bangladesh.

And now our children, brothers and sisters in Bangladesh need these urgently need immediately:

  • Water purifying tablets and safe drinking water,
  • Food for domestic animals
  • Provide emergency medical care
  • Repair and reconstruct around 100 fully or partially damaged schools and community structures.

Let’s provide them help real soon, no matter how much you give it will save a life.

It was narrated by ath-Thabrani and al-Baihaqi from 'Uqbah bin 'Amir (Radhiyallahu 'anhu) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Indeed, charity extinguishes the heat of the grave from its inhabitants. Indeed, the believer on the Day of Judgment will take shelter under the shade of his charity.”

2000 Moslem Minority in Indonesia have been CENTURIES live in dark!

There are more than 2,000 people, coming from 223 households and 8 RT (Neighborhoods) in Marisa Village who have had to experience this electricity crisis for centuries. And they are the Muslim minority there.

They needed a diesel electric device or generator or Solar Panels to support their activities. A traditional lamp with fuel oil is also their friend at night.

The most heartbreaking thing is when a pregnant woman dies due to delays in treatment where she has to cross to another sub-district to access health care for a 4-5 hour journey by ship.

There are no health facilities in Marisa Village, especially with the lack of access to electricity there. So that if there are residents who are sick and need medical treatment, they have to cross the island first for hours.

We hope they can have adequate electricity source facilities, this can help fix other problems such as the availability of adequate health facilities as well so that there is no need for more lives to be sacrificed.

They hope for the new one with better quality support things like this :

Diesel Generator

Solar Panel

On this BLESSED FRIDAY, Let’s help them by providing those assistance by clicking SUPPORT now.

We deliver a very good and healthy lunch meal for all of the girls of the madrasa. They are a poor and orphan children.

Since the aid was collected to provide food for the flood victims but the actual flood situation was recovered by the quick help from Bangladesh govt, international and national donations, we provided the aid to the similarly needy people in a similar format (food). These poor girls usually can’t get good food.

This aid gave them a rare opportunity to enjoy a delicious and healthy. they became very happy.
