Libya Floods Emergency 

Devastating floods have struck Libya! At least 2,000 people have died and another 10,000 are reported as missing. Ina illahi waina illahi rajioon. 

The catastrophic Storm Daniel poured so much rain into the region that two dams collapsed in the northeast region of the country. 

In the eastern city of Derna, which has seen the worst of the devastation, as many as 6,000 people are missing, Othman Abduljalil, health minister in Libya’s eastern administration, told Libya’s Almasar TV. He called the situation “catastrophic,” when he toured the city on Monday. The hospitals and morgues are already full. 

Entire neighbourhoods have been washed away. People are frightened for their lives. The emergency services are doing all the can, but we know they cannot do it alone. There are many gaps to be filled. Areas we can support and help.
