The Prophet ﷺ said, "There is none amongst the Muslims who plants a tree or sows seeds, and then a bird, or a person or an animal eats from it, but is regarded as a charitable gift for him." [Bukhari]

Regarding this project, our teacher al-Habib 'Umar bin Hafiz advised us to “Plant date palms in Madinah, olive trees in Jerusalem, and lemon trees in Tarim.”

Following on from the hugely successful Planting Trees in the Blessed Lands campaign in 2020-21 which raised well over £100k for the Muṣṭafā Mount complex, we are once again offering you the opportunity, for this month only, to earn incalculable ongoing rewards (sadaqah jariyah) through twin actions; firstly, through planting trees in blessed lands, and secondly, through supporting the Muṣṭafā Mount complex to serve our generation and prepare the next.

Planting Trees in Madinah, Jerusalem, and Tarim

The date palm trees planted in Madinah are part of a regional endowment in support of orphans.

The Prophet ﷺ said, "I and the person who looks after an orphan and provides for him, will be in Paradise like this." putting his index and middle fingers together. [Bukhari]

The lemon trees planted at al-Awali farm serve as an endowment for al-Habib 'Umar's renowned educational establishment in Tarim, Dar al-Mustafa, which has produced thousands of students and teachers around the world.

Muṣṭafā Mount - Intentions and Overall Vision

Islam is built on 5 pillars, and likewise, there are 5 intentions for Muṣṭafā Mount:

1. To raise the Name of God uppermost
2. To establish a waqf (religious endowment)
3. To take responsibility for the raising of the next generation in accordance with the prophetic way. Our Legacy: Their Future
4. To develop a blueprint for sacred space in the West which exemplifies the prophetic way
5. To develop our own ‘independent’ sources of food and water

Supporting the Muṣṭafā Mount complex

The money raised will help with:

4. Capital Costs

The Prophet ﷺ said, “The best of what a man leaves behind are three: a righteous child who supplicates for him, ongoing charity the reward of which reaches him, and knowledge that is acted upon after him.”
