What's the issue?

The humanitarian crisis in Yemen is considered one of the worst in the world, driven by conflict, economic collapse, and the continuous demolition of public institutions and services. As the conflict in Yemen enters its fifth year, 24.4 million people are in need of humanitarian aid in order to survive. One of the world's poorest countries, Yemeni people are facing catastrophic famine. Almost 10 million people are risk of starvation. Yemen families also need shelter,  clean water supply, access to drinking water, sanitation facilities, and assistance in health or nutrition. Our team this year has been working towards raising as much funds to provide humanitarian relief. 

Why are we Fundraising For This Campaign?

Ramadan Kareem to those observing. Omega Beta Eta, Arab Fraternity, Inc., is working with Penny Appeal to help raise money to aid the humanitarian crisis in Yemen. A country that is already struggling with armed conflict and widespread malnutrition, COVID-19 presents an imminent danger that threatens the healthcare landscape.
We are currently at $1,000 with the help of students and other fundraisers held throughout the year. However, due to COVID-19 and schools being out of session we were unable to host our end of the year charity events. Our goal is $6,000 and it is still very much attainable with your help. Please consider donating to help us reach our goal and help aid the world’s largest humanitarian crisis.

How will this campaign help solve the problem?

Our Emergency Response focuses on reducing the impact of COVID-19 and reducing the outbreak of infectious diseases, helping overcome hunger and malnutrition among highly vulnerable populations, and providing shelter and services to displaced families living in emergency and IDP (Internally Displaced People) settlements. 

We will provide:

Food packs 
COVID PPE & hygiene packs
Shelter packs 
Medical packs

Yemen Emergency Response Plan - It will cost $20,000 and help +18,000 individuals!
