​It is reported that more than a million children around the world have lost a parent to Covid-19, and a total of 1.5 million have lost either a parent, a grandparent or a relative who helped care for them. "Covid-19 has created this urgent crisis affecting children in almost every nation," Dr. Susan Hillis of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention COVID-19 Response Team, who worked on the study, told CNN. 

Despite the challenges of the last 18 months Children Of Hope (COH) has continued to assist in multiple projects across the globe. Generous contributions during our year-round campaigns helped us meet our commitments to provide education, food and shelter for destitute children. 

One of our twelve current projects is the Orphan House Foundation in Afghanistan. We would like you to join hands with us in supporting these orphans with their basic rights such as food, education, and lodging - a responsibility shouldered to take care of children who deserve the basic while the rest chase the best.

$150. That is the monthly cost at Orphan House Foundation's orphanage to properly care and feed an orphan. This cost is inclusive of housing at the safe and secure orphanage that is staffed 24 hours by caring staff, transportation to and from a private school in Kabul, after-school tutoring at the orphanage, three home-cooked meals a day at the orphanage, daily extracurricular activities, and regular outings and field trips.

Meet Asif at the Orphan House Foundation

This foundation is headed by Dr. Kadeer M. Halimi and currently houses 32 boys and 2 girls in their orphanage. The organization assists the children by:
• Identifying the unique needs of orphaned children and addressing those needs through medical, developmental, psychosocial and educational programs

• Nurturing orphaned children with the love and attention that is each child’s birthright, so he or she may grow, learn play and, ultimately lead a productive, dignified life

• Encouraging partnerships with like-minded organizations, both in-Afghanistan and the U.S., so Orphan House Foundation can extend its reach, leverage its resources effectively, and ensure sustainability and consistent growth
