Every able Muslim must fulfill the obligations prescribed by Islamic law by issuing zakat as perfecting the fourth pillar of Islam. Zakat has effective potential as a means of empowering the people's economy so that zakat is expected to have a role to alleviate poverty. Zakat funds can be developed through business capital financing and the utilization of the poor which aims to enable people to have capital and experience so that they can be useful to make life better.
"Indeed, the zakat is only for the needy, the poor, the administrators of zakat, the converts who are persuaded by their hearts, for slaves, for those in debt, for the way of Allah and for those who are on their way. as a decree ordained by Allah, and Allah is All-Knowing, All-Wise." (At-Taubah verse 60)
The Prophet SAW. said, "Guard your treasures with zakat, treat the sick among you with shadaqah, and prepare for calamity with prayer." This hadith is narrated by imam Ath-Thabarani, imam Abu Nuaim, and imam Al-Khathib from the companions of Ibn Mas'ud r.a.
Indonesia has an increase in the poverty rate as of March 2024, there are around 25.2 million people who are classified as poor, of which the majority of them are Muslims and can receive zakat. Zakat has a mandatory law for Muslims who are materially capable and can actually help Muslims nationally by doing charity.
Your zakat will be very useful and help the people who are lacking as well as other zakat recipients in Indonesia. We will distribute to those in need through the following programs:
We hope they can continue their education for free and finish their school. So they can have a greater chance to change the future for the better.
We will providing food and drink to elderly, poor families, the homeless, and people who lack food.
Your zakat is used to help those in need so they can achieve a better livelihood. With this assistance, it is hoped that they can improve their living conditions, gain better opportunities, and ultimately achieve more stable welfare
Zakat can be use for giving access of health to the poor and needy, for example free dental check-ups or medical assistance and emergency medical treatment
Economic empowerment of underprivileged families through capacity building and business capital assistance, with some examples including catfish farming in East Java and batik production in Madura.
Distribute your zakat with us to provide assistance to those in need. It is hoped that your zakat will one day be a benefit for many recipients. You can also help by sharing this campaign link.

LMI’s Support for MSMEs and Livestock Farmers in Blitar
Blitar – For some, business capital is the key to unlocking the door to a better life. This is the primary goal of the economic empowerment program run by LAZNAS LMI. Through this initiative, LMI provides business capital assistance to MSME entrepreneurs and livestock farming groups, enabling them to grow and gradually break free from the cycle of poverty.
In a modest home in Sumberingin Village, Sanankulon District, Blitar Regency, Mrs. Kirma Suti gratefully received business capital assistance from LMI Blitar. As a mother of two who works as a daily laborer, she relies on her strength and hard work to provide for her family.
In Purwokerto Village, Srengat District, Blitar Regency, support for the livestock sector was also distributed. LMI Blitar handed over four goats—two adult females and two young ones—to the Purwo Sejati Community Group (POKMAS), received directly by Mr. Imam Sholihin, one of the group’s administrators. With this system, the goats will be bred so that the benefits are not only felt by one or two individuals but by the entire group over the long term. It is hoped that this program will serve as a sustainable solution for improving the welfare of livestock farmers in the area.
Zakat Fitrah
This zakat program is one of the routine programs carried out by LAZNAS LMI from year to year, and is distributed throughout the territory of the Republic of Indonesia, especially remote and vulnerable areas of food availability. This distribution activity was carried out in stages for two consecutive days. Together with LMI volunteers and UTM students, LMI distributes directly from house to house. Happy gratitude was heard from the beneficiaries when LMI distributed zakat. “We would like to thank all the donors and partners who have supported this program. May your charity be accepted by Allah SWT,” said the LMI team representative.

Modified Motorcycle for Mrs. Mutmainah, a single parent of 2 child
.
Kediri - Mrs. Mutmainah, a person with disabilities (47 y.o) smiled broadly when she saw LMI bring her a modified motorbike according to her needs. Mother Mutmainah has been a single parent since her husband died two years ago due to the Covid-19 pandemic, making her the backbone for her two children who are currently still at school.
Everyday he works spinning hooks with an income of Rp. 700/seed or about 0.05 USD. In one day he is able to produce 50-70 spinning hooks which then in two weeks must be delivered to collectors.
Due to her physical limitations, Mrs. Mutmainah needs a three-wheeled vehicle to mobilize while working. This vehicle will be very useful for delivering spun fishing rods to collectors, taking children to school, shopping at the market, and other activities. Alhamdulillah, yesterday the LMI team had the opportunity to visit his house to deliver a three-wheeled vehicle as a form of support from LMI donors.
It's great to see Mrs. Mutmainah's happiness in getting a new motorbike. Hopefully useful and more enthusiasm for work. Thank you, ladies and gentlemen, LMI donors and all Zakat friends, may Allah give us wealth and we will continue to do good to others.

LMI Presents Ramadan Love Quran with Different Experience
Ramadan is a moment to increase our love for the Quran. So that this opportunity can also be felt by the Kawan Netra Community and friends assisted by Home Santren Surabaya, LMI held a Khataman Al Quran on The Boat for them.
Taking place on Saturday (April, 8th), this event was attended by 30 blind people. Each completed 1 juz of the Quran during the event. Very proud and touched to see the enthusiasm of blind friends in reading the Koran in Braille.
In addition to media preaching, this agenda has a mission to eradicate braille Quran illiteracy among blind friends in Indonesia and provide a different experience to them.
6,897 Fidyah Packages have been distributed to all corners of Indonesia
LMI is committed to continuing to expand its benefits by reaching Muslim brothers and sisters who are in remote and difficult to reach locations. So this Ramadan, the elderly and the poor in Indonesia can feel the blessings and joy of the month of Ramadan.
One of the fidyah packages was received by a native tribe of West Papua, the Kokoda Tribe at the tip of East Indonesia. Geographically, this village is surrounded by mangrove forests from the mouth of a small river to the beach. As a result, the water in that location is brackish and unfit for consumption.
Another area that is the target of fidyah distribution is Sei Bakung Village, Banjar Regency, which is in the province of South Kalimantan (Borneo island). They are residents of the river coast, most of whom are fishermen and traders. By going through difficult terrain, the LMI team had to walk long distances because access to residents' homes was via catwalks or small bridges that could only be passed on foot or by motorcycle.
Alhamdulillah, we are very happy to be able to give a happy smile to Muslim communities in remote areas of Indonesia

Indonesia is an archipelagic country that has 17,000 islands with the fourth largest population in the world, which is around 270 million people. Indonesia also has the largest Muslim population in the world which is about 86.9% of the population is Muslim. But, unfortunately Indonesia is still included as the 100 poorest countries in the world.
Access to remote parts of Indonesia is very difficult. Apart from being scattered in islands, most of these remote areas still do not have adequate facilities. Unpaved roads, steep and winding terrain, access to schools, hospitals, and other public facilities is not easy to reach.
Therefore, we are obliged to assist and contribute to the distribution of aid and the provision of programs that can build Muslim communities in remote areas of Indonesia
