The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "A faithful believer to a faithful believer is like the bricks of a wall, supporting each other."

Please contribute your zakat to alleviate hunger, homelessness, and poverty, within the New York Muslim community.  Poverty rates in New York City are at historic levels, with 1 in 4 New Yorkers living in poverty, unable to afford essentials.  Over 800,000 Muslims live in the New York metro area, many of whom struggle to pay for basic needs for themselves and their families.  

So far this Ramadan over 800 families have already applied for assistance, we anticipate a total of 1,000 applicants and a need of $1.5 million to support them.  

100% of your donation goes directly to unrestricted cash grants for community members in need.  We  support vulnerable individuals and families, facing challenges such as:

• refugee relocation;
• domestic violence;
• housing insecurity;
• joblessness;
• managing disabilities; and
• burdens of medical debt.

In Ramadan 2024, with your support, we were able to fully fund over 300 grants ranging from $500 to $3000 in direct cash assistance  (avg. $1500).  These grants are transformative for those in poverty, and with your donations, we can help even more people in need.
