About Zuhri Trust

Zuhri is a organisation who serves the Islamic and social needs of the community in Luton. We offer many services including , youth services,  prayers, weekday and weekend children clubs as well as community services for both brothers and sisters. We are fortunate to be across two sites covering the different needs of our users across Luton. 

Alhamdullilah we have had over 600 adults enrolled in our Islamic studies two years course as well as holding smaller one day courses reaching over 1000 adults.

Our service is offered to both brothers and sister and include the following:

• Quran & Tajweed
• Islamic Youth Club
• Youth workshops
• Maktab
• Youth retreats
• Charity Treks
• Adult Islamic Courses
• Mental Health courses
• Islamic History courses
• Arabic Programmes
• Prayer spaces for Brothers sisters

Purchase of our new building

Alhamdullilah we have managed to purchase a building near Luton Airport and Bedfordshire University, where we can expand our services to the community in the area.

Current Costs

Since purchasing the building we have had to do a lot of work already to get the building up to standards and in a position that we can operate from. This includes the following:

• Replacing the carpet in the building
• Building a Library
• Painting and cleaning the whole building
• Furnishing the building with equipment
• Creating dedicated rooms for sisters and children(Creche)
• Installing a CCTV system- Our building is in a industrial area so security is very important.
• Marked out bays- So users can park safely and maximise the space we have
• Regular cleaning required

Most of the work has been carried out by our volunteers or staff where possible but there are some work which requires professional help which we need you to assist us with funding.

Future costs- Where we need your help!

• Installing a ablution area- The current building does not have a dedicated washing facility.We have made a start on this with the funds raised, but this is not yet complete.
• Fixing the plumbing in the toilets- We have had flooding in the building due to damaged pipes which need immediate repair. This has been partially repaired and we need to continue making enhancements.
• Complete the  heating system for the building- Our building has now heating in parts of the building but we need to expand this to the whole building.
• Replacing windows- The whole building requires new windows to ensure the building is safe and kept warm.
• Install a utilities area for sisters in their section of the building- We want sisters to have a fully furnished area.
• Running the building- Our electricity costs and running costs.
