Zakat Eligible. There are many sisters in prison/new Muslims that always ask for hijabs.

Eidul Fitr Feast for DC Prison (Zakatul/Sadaqatul Fitr)

What food will be given: 2pc Fried Chicken, 1pc Fried Fish, Chic Peas, Salad, dinner roll, cake, rice, beverage. Served buffet style in containers and served to inmates.

Prayer Rug

Zakat Eligible.

Cleaning Kits

Zakat Eligible. In prison, you need to buy cleaning kits that contain basic necessities (example, soap) monthly and sometimes the family cannot afford it.

Phone Calling Payment

Zakat Eligible. Many families struggle to pay the facility money to communicate with their loved ones in prison. They need money monthly to replenish phone time.

One Jumuah or Islamic Class

Not Zakat Eligible. This goes to the volunteer teacher or volunteer khateeb to pay for gas and time spent volunteering. Please note that many facilities will require multiple Jumuah/classes due to size and restrictions of the facility.

Books of Hadith

Zakat Eligible. We only provide books of hadith that are authentic sources.

Qur'an Shipping Costs to Facility

Zakat Eligible. We get free Qur'an from Furqaan but we must cover shipping. We ship to all over the country and the shipping costs are a lot.

Month of Jumuah or Islamic Class
