Help the Register be there for victims of Islamophobic incidents

For the past 5 years, the Register has been surviving with volunteers, but it needs your help to keep going and meet demand through basic administrative support.

Your help will enable them to connect victims to counselling supports as well as free legal avenues that can achieve positive outcomes for everyone from schools, workplaces, shopping centres, public transport and social media. 

With your support, the Islamophobia Register can stand up for the dignity of all people, by providing a safe, independent and trusted channel for reports from the Muslim community. In partnership with Charles Sturt University, this data is collated into a published national report to influence public decision-making and debate.

Their last report shows a majority of attacks target Muslim women in hijab, often in public places (60%), and often when they are alone (57%). 

The Register would also like to work with police on better responses. With the lack of laws in this area and underreporting to police, the Islamophobia Register represents a rare source of strength and protection for vulnerable Australians caught in this situation.
