The Masjid in Saint John, New Brunswick was built in 1985 by the Muslim Association of New Brunswick, the first ever masjid of its kind in the Atlantic Canada. It  was entirely funded and executed by the relatively small Saint John Muslim Community, with some contributions made by the Muslims in the Maritimes and Ontario. Almost 40 years later, the Muslim community in Saint John has grown exponentially, which means a bigger masjid is needed in order to meet the requirements of our present and future generations.

Our objective is to build an extension to the prayer halls and the community rooms which are currently used for our Islamic School, all educational and social events for our young generations as well as social gathering for our community.

The estimated cost for this expansion project is $380,000 and Alhamdulillah, so far, we have secured $230,000 in funds, and therefore we are only looking to raise $150,000 in order to complete this project.

Our proposal is to commence the construction at the end of summer (August/September) and the construction is expected to take place for 3 months with the interior finishes to complete by the end of the winter months, InshaAllah.
