Nisa Helpline supports and counsels vulnerable women in our community to live fulfilling and dignified lives.

Up to 500 calls a month are received by the helpline from women battling grief, fear, loneliness, abuse, marital discord, mental health illnesses, covid-19 impacts and the list goes on.

Pave her path forward and light her way this Ramadan. Help us leave no calls unanswered by fulfilling your collective responsibility!

Your contribution will provide opportunities for sisters to start their journey of overcoming challenges, healing, rebuilding, thriving, and rising above and beyond their fears and hardships.  

During these uncertain times, we have all struggled in one way or another and the women in our lives have taken the brunt of it all. Nisa Helpline has witnessed the rise in mental health and domestic abuse issues, the struggle to maintain a balance between work and home life, and the distress women face daily inside and outside of their homes.

 Nisa helpline has received calls from...

​- The sister who is in an abusive marriage and is stuck in a home with no support. 

- The single mother who fell ill with coronavirus and has no family to take care of her two children under the age of 10. 

- The elderly woman who reached out to use for support as she was battling loneliness, as a result of covid restrictions.

- Many more women have suffered silently from domestic abuse and isolation.

Nisa Helpline provides sisters with a safe space to talk about their fears, address their challenges, and provide them with the resources and support  necessary to pave their path forward. As a result, these same women have displayed great resilience, perseverance, and strength. 

Nisa Helpline would not be able to provide this support without your help. Your donations to us is an ongoing sadaqah that will enable us to answer every call for help that we receive. This Ramadan, let us continue to strengthen these bonds and uphold our collective responsibility.

Nisa Helpline has been working in the frontlines catering to a 47% increase in calls as a result of this pandemic.  In March alone, we saw an astounding 225% increase in the number of calls received as compared to last March.

Our counsellors are trained to provide proactive solutions to our callers and instil preventative measures in our community. We listen, we care, we support, and we empower. Through just one phone call, a woman begins her journey to self-growth, self-healing, and self-love. We provide the resources to our sisters so that they can get the personalized and professional help that they need to become whole again.

Why is it our Collective Responsibility?

Societies thrive and prosper when their foundation (women) is cared for and healthy.  By helping the mental well-being of women in our community we are creating a safer and more compassionate future for our sisters.

This Ramadan lets strengthen these bonds in our society and  uphold our collective responsibility.

Our annual operational costs are over $120,000, and this Ramadan, we are committed to raising $80,000.

Phase 1 = $30,000 - covers 3 months of calls

Phase 2 = $50,000 - covers 5 months of calls 

To date, we have received over 32,000+ calls. This total is projected to grow by another 6,000 additional calls in the coming months. These numbers are more than telling of just how important Nisa Helpline is to so many women in  community. At Nisa Helpline, we believe that a healthy community is one that puts women’s mental and spiritual well-being at the forefront. Our mission is to empower Muslim women by giving them the tools necessary to lead self-sufficient and dignified lives. Nisa Helpline also provides educational programs in the forms of workshops and webinars. These tools provide Muslim women and their allies the opportunity to gain insight into pertinent topics that include mental health management and spiritual remedies.
