A meal a day keeps the tears away

What do you really know about the situation in Afghanistan?... No, seriously, think about it.

You probably know about the war, the Taliban, more about the war, the withdrawal of US and UK personnel last year. 

The news only really focuses on the violence. What about everyday life for most Afghans?

Did you know that new-born deaths and miscarriages have nearly doubled over there? And did you know that 97% of the population are at risk of falling under the poverty threshold? That’s nearly 39 million people – or to put it in context for us, that’s over half of the population of the entire United Kingdom. So, most of your friends and family would probably fall into this category. 

Be thankful it’s them instead of you.

Right now, a third of Afghans struggle to find food. Half of under-5s face acute malnutrition – which will affect them for the rest of their lives.

But we have a secret that could break the cycle of poverty for hundreds of Afghanistan’s children once and for all!

Charity Right has launched in 4 schools! We are working towards feeding over 2,000 children every day in Kabul for the duration of their school life. Parents can now encourage their children to go to school and into work. 

Before we know it, they’ll be fed, healthy and ready to take on university, further education, jobs – whatever they want!

We currently feed 1000 children a free daily meal. We need your support to feed 1000 new children from Kabul with a daily meal to reach our target. It costs £150 to feed one child a daily meal for one year.
