Bake 4 Widow Homes

Lets get our baking hats on and bake towards building a home for a widow and orphan children.

Widows, as well as orphans, are the most vulnerable in society. They are left homeless and struggle to survive especially with young children who are dependent on them. 

In many cultures, widows are stripped of their rights to own a home, to
work or make a living, and some are forced to participate in degrading
cleansing rituals. When a mother cannot provide for her children, they
end up with no choice but to take them out of school and work, or marry
them off at young ages, if they are girls.  

Providing a widow with a home will give them the confidence they need to stand up for themselves. It will help society understand their value and change
their perspective of them from being a burden, to being a key member of
society. Many live in self-built homes made from sheets of metal or mud
that cannot withstand harsh weathers.

A new home provides warmth and security for the family. It would be that safe place they have been looking for where they can grow in confidence; their home. 

At Orphans in Need, we have started a new project, building widow homes.
Many are living in harsh conditions in huts and wooden shelters without
any heat or water causing them detrimental health conditions. So, we
rebuild their homes to make them better, such as providing heating
systems or water pipes giving clean water. 

Today we can provide a family with a home which they can grow old in. 

So, lets get baking!
