Cheer to School - Helping Malaysian Students 

Lately, we’ve been seeing a lot of news related to poverty issues in other countries, but did you know that some children in the plantation estates and rural regions of Malaysia are facing the same problem as well?

We have seen students with ripped shoes, reused school uniforms and with limited stationery to aid in their studies. Many of us might have the luxury of owning a fashionable and attractive school bag or pencil case but they may not even have one!

Good news! You’re now able to help them with the Cheer to School project by Islamic Relief Malaysia. Cheer to School is an education project which aims to help poor students, regardless of race and religion, by providing all the necessities needed for schooling. This project will be held at the end of the year before school year begins.

This year, we would like you to help us in lending a hand to these loving children from Sabah, Sarawak, Selangor (Kajang and Dengkil) who live in plantation estates and rural regions, and play a part in their road to success! A gift from you, as little as RM 1, will be a huge contribution to provide school necessities for these little children as a motivational element to encourage enthusiasm and stimulate learning, ensuring they feel happy, safe, secure, and confident in continuing their studies.

RM 150 will be allocated per child which is the equivalent of 35.10 USD. With your help, we will be able to provide a set of school uniforms, a pair of school shoes and stationeries for each selected child. In addition, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, hand sanitisers and face masks will be given as well!

Our main project activity is centered around a shopping concept where we allow the students to choose the design of their bags, shoes, school uniform and stationeries within the allocated budget of RM150 per student. Besides that, we will be host psychosocial activities and meals will also be provided.
