'Syrian refugees burn plastic to survive harsh winter'
This was just one of the heartbreaking headline reported by Al-Jazeera on the struggles that are faced by millions of Syrian displaced since 2011. As reported, winter is the most difficult times and urge for more donors to care for refugees are warned.
'Syrians remain the largest refugee population in the world. More than 5.6 million live in neighbouring countries and across North Africa. Another 6.2 million are estimated to be displaced within Syria.' - UNHCR
Every winter mission, Cinta Syria Malaysia will send aid to refugees in 4 countries; Jordan , Lebanon, Turkey and Northern Syria. This effort is in collaboration with two well-know NGOs in Turkey and Lebanon; URDA and BONYAN Organization. The funds will then be allocated into several categories including education, warm kit, health and medical and food packs.
This year the allocations are categorised as follows:
1. Fuel (RM260,000.00)
2. Food & Bread packs (RM260,000.00)
3. Winter Kit (RM270,000.00)
4. Health and medical (RM260,000.00) : Funds will be donated to Aarsal medical centre and 2 mobile clinics in Syria; Dar Eshtefa and Dar Al Salama, that caters the medical needs for Syrian refugees.
5. Education (RM260,100.00)
Many refugees have been stucked in the same place for years now with the same harsh conditions. Life has become a constant struggle, especially during the season of winter and the outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic.

1. Pray : For the refugees that are displaced, for the children, for the stability of the country and the community that work tirelessly for refugees.
2. Support : Support them through us to by donating to our campaign.
3. Learn and Spread : Issues that are happening in Syria are available on our social medias. Follow and share them to your contacts to raise awareness on one of the worst humanitarian crisis in the world.

Food insecurity and hunger causes many children to become stunted (if not worse) due to malnutrition. 'More refugees are worried about starving more than the coronavirus' as reported by France 24.

The temperature can drop as low as 0.4'C. Not to mention, families are forced to flee without bringing anything but clothes. The fuel can help to contain warmth inside the shelter to survive during the freezing season.
