Yemen is now the world’s largest human induced food security crisis, with 22 million people in need and of those 17.8 million people facing food insecurity. Children will be worst hit in what is being forecast as the world’s most lethal famine for 100 years, with up to 14 million people at risk. Moreover, the cholera epidemic has seen more than 900,000 suspected cases and over 2,000 deaths.
In response to the expected famine, Islamic Relief Yemen seeks to implement
nutrition and health services in a total of 151 health facilities and in 331 distribution points. Moreover, we are distributing food across a wide area in partnership with the UN’s World Food Programme. We have provided food to more than 2.5 million people. We’ve also equipped 21 hospitals and clinics across the country to support doctors and nurses working to treat wounded, sick and malnourished people.
The areas where we have responded include Sanaa, Sana’a city, Aden, Taiz, Lahj, Abyan, Amran, Shabwah, Mareb, Sa’ada, Hodeida, Hadramout and Dhamar.

As we are now in the last 10 nights of Ramadan I would like to share with you another campaign which needs your help! Ramadan Orphan Sponsorships campaign. We have a goal to raise money for 100 Orphan Sponsorships Inshah Allah. Alhamdullilah we have surpassed the halfway mark in the fundraiser and now need 35 people to sponsor 1 Orphan each. The Orphan Sponsorships are $600/year.
