Introduction

Masjid Muhammad pleas for your kind support this Ramadan. More than a mosque, Masjid Muhammad of Atlantic City is a source of rich knowledge for all, a supportive community and a center for families. And, we serve a community in great need. Our home is in Atlantic City, New Jersey which has the highest poverty rate in the county and Atlantic County has the highest poverty rate in the state. In Atlantic City, 42.1% of residents live below the poverty level. We directly depend on donations to cover our monthly operating expenses, critical building repairs, Islamic classes and continuous social services such as feeding the hungry.

Our Story

Masjid Muhammad of Atlantic City has been a pillar of the community for decades. In the past year, Masjid Muhammad of Atlantic City has held over a dozen programs, hosting teachers from across the globe including Shaykh Samir An Nass, Imam Fode Drame, Ustadha Ieasha Prime, Shaykh AbdulKarim Yahya, Shaykh Walead Mosaad and more. The annual Islamic summit was also held, bringing together over 20 Imams, teachers, and leaders in the Islamic community from across the country and Canada. Hundreds of families have benefited from hot meals we’ve served and clothing, groceries and household supplies we've distributed. Imam Amin Muhammad, the masjid’s Imam, has lead city-wide initiatives, crossing cultural and religious sectors, and was chosen to open the swearing-in ceremonies for the Mayor and City Council earlier this year.

With your support, we will be able to sustain these vital initiatives and grow as an organization. Additionally, we will be able to replace the roof of our 10,000 square-foot building which is severely deteriorated. We also hope to offer free classes on a regular basis, including livestreaming so those who live far can also benefit.

Success from Last Year's Campaign

From your overwhelming support during last year’s campaign, we have been able to repair our deteriorated roof that had been further damaged by Superstorm Sandy. Contractors patched areas of the roof to prevent leaking, which is serving as a temporary fix and has prevented further damage.

About Masjid Muhammad

Masjid Muhammad is a multi-cultural religious community established in the City of Atlantic City, New Jersey. Our mission is to spread the beautiful teachings of Al Islam to the citizens of Atlantic County and the surrounding areas. We serve our community by providing many needed services such as a Food Pantry, Interfaith activities, Social and Marital counseling, and much more. We hold the five daily prayers in our 10,000 Sq ft facility. In addition, we conduct daily classes in the various Islamic disciplines.

Our educational approach is based on the famous hadith of the angel Jibril which mentions three divisions of our religion: Islam (Religious Practice), Iman (Religious Faith), and Ihsan (Spiritual Purification). We believe that mastery of these three essential sciences are extremely important toward developing a complete believer and a healthy Islamic community.
