For Ramadan 2024, Sense Islam has teamed up with Charity Right (registered charity no: 1163944).

This campaign is in aid of feeding school children who live in some of the poorest areas around the world providing meals to vulnerable children in Palestine, Afghanistan, Eritrean, Rohingya, Uyghur refugees and slum children in Dhaka, Bangladesh. 

The money we will raise will allow children to concentrate on their studies by providing them with nutritious meals, bringing them a step closer to breaking the poverty cycle.

Education is the real key to solving world hunger and breaking the poverty cycle. Thousands of families can’t send their children to school, relying on them to work just to afford food. Millions of children brave danger on the streets to earn whatever money they can. 

This project is Zakat eligible and tax deductible verified!

Gaza, Palestine

There is a food crisis in Gaza. More than half a million people in Gaza – a quarter of the entire population – are now believed to be at the most severe Phase 5 'catastrophic' levels of hunger, meaning they are at high risk of starvation and death. Charity Right's work in Gaza is a lifeline providing food packs and hot meals to children and families. 

Hayat Yolu, Charity Right's on-the-ground partner, has been actively providing aid in Palestine since 2014. Their extensive experience uniquely positions them to adeptly overcome challenges related to the delivery of essential food and water in Gaza.

Charity Right remains committed to supporting the children of Palestine now by providing ongoing emergency aid and in the future by establishing a school meals programme in the country.

Afghanistan

As one of the world's poorest countries, fathers are unable to provide food for their children. As a result, over a third of children in Afghanistan have been forced into work.  

As poverty and hunger tightens its grip, families are sometimes driven to the unthinkable act of selling their own children to free some of their financial burden.

As we strive to provide nourishment to children in Kabul Province, your support is vital in ensuring no Afghan child goes to bed hungry ever again. 

Bangladesh

In Bangladesh, millions of children suffer from malnutrition, who cannot develop to their full mental and physical potential because they do not have enough food. 

With Bangladeshi children losing their futures to hunger, we believe that every meal provided can change the direction of their life. Charity Right provides meals every day to thousands of children living in the slums at Dhaka and Rohingya refugees at Cox Bazaar.  

Uyghur refugees in Turkey

Thousands of Uyghurs have fled their homeland from constant persecution in China's Xinjiang region, and now live in Turkey. Many of the Uyghurs are women and children who have left their families behind to seek security. We provide school meals, educational facilities and meals to children studying Hifz to  free them from the worry of where their next meal is coming from, so they can focus on rebuilding their lives.
