You can help Palestinian refugee families by providing emergency food, covid-19 relief, and help fund education programs

The families of the Aida Refugee Camp in Bethlehem, Palestine need our help this Ramadan.  An emergency fundraiser has been launched to help  cover the costs of essential food,  Health Committee supplies (oxygen generators, medicine), personal hygiene products, and the costs of running the education projects for children.  The funds will be graciously distributed between Covid-19 relief for food and groceries, the Health Committee, and the education project costs.  Every donation (no matter how big or small) can have a profound impact to the families that are suffering.

The Aida Refugee Camp is home to more than 5000 Palestinian refugees, spanning four generations.  Before Covid-19, most of the families were already living paycheck to paycheck, struggling to break out of generations of cyclical poverty.  Whatever little savings people did have, have now run dry.

The Aida Youth Center was founded in 1968 to serve the local community, especially children, by providing a recreational hub to improve the living conditions of the camp residents.  For years the center has offered the youth a creative outlet through arts, music, education, & sports, for positive change, empowerment, & leadership to serve their communities.  Over the last year due to the pandemic, the AYC has poured nearly all of its budget into providing emergency aid to needy families and helped create a Health Committee comprised of 2 doctors, 5 nurses, and 2 social workers to help coronavirus patients in the camp and look after them to avoid complications while hospitals were completely full.

Please join us in helping these refugee families during a very challenging year and may you have a blessed month!
All contributions made are zakat-eligible and tax-deductible through the NH Peace Action Education Fund.

Palestine Emergency Relief Fund | Urgent Support Needed Now

as'salaamu alaykum - Many of you have likely seen the devastating images of what is taking place in Jerusalem right now. This is in addition to so much that took place throughout Palestine already in this month of Ramadan and since the beginning of this year that we aren't even hearing about.  We've launched a campaign to support our brothers and sisters in Palestine at launchgood.com/AidaRefugeeCamp - please consider making a zakat-eligible/tax-deductible contribution today and sharing the link with others to encourage them to contribute as well.

I was blessed to visit Palestine for the first time in January of 2020, shortly before COVID-19 reached the United States. One of the most impactful places we went to in Palestine on that visit was the Aida Refugee camp, home to 5000 Palestinian refugees spanning four generations. A dear brother that I met there who is doing good work for his people wrote this to me recently:

"‘Ramadan Mubarak - we wish you a blessed month from Palestine. You may have seen on social media that Palestinians have not been allowed to pass this holy month in peace. The Israeli occupation is becoming increasingly violent, and refugees are often bearing the brunt of this violence. Aida refugee camp is attacked by the occupation army almost every day. In addition, two months of UNRWA strikes have affected our access to education, healthcare and sanitation, and all this while many families in the camp have not financially recovered from the pandemic. We are in urgent need of support to help families not go hungry, to help those who are ill with accessing healthcare, and to make sure children are not missing out on education.”

Make a gift today at launchgood.com/AidaRefugeeCamp and share the link to encourage others to give as well inshallah. Every dollar will make a difference and will go through Refugee Alliance International, a registered charity here in the United States. Funds contributed are zakat-eligible and tax deductible and will be used to provide food parcel distribution to needy families, financial support for widows & orphans, and much needed medications and procedures for those who are ill and in need of medical attention.

Please do keep our brothers and sisters in Palestine in your prayers, especially in these blessed days of Ramadan.

Palestine Emergency Relief | Support Palestine This Ramadan

as'salaamu alaykum and Ramadan Mubarak,

I'm sure you have seen the devastating images coming out of Palestine in the last few days.  I'm writing to you as someone who contributed to support our brothers and sisters in Palestine last Ramadan in hopes that you will make a contribution again this year.  We are raising funds at launchgood.com/aidarefugees and will keep the link open throughout the month.

I received this message from a brother doing good work in the Aida camp:

"Ramadan Mubarak - I hope this message finds you well and I wish you a blessed Ramadan.  The world may have opened back up, but Palestine is still recovering from the coronavirus pandemic. The effects of the pandemic are still felt everyday in our lives. Many in our community have lost their jobs and have suffered great economic hardships. On top of all of this we are dealing with daily attacks from the Israeli occupation. We are doing everything we can to help our community, but still many families are falling through the cracks.

Please consider making a gift at launchgood.com/aidarefugees and sharing the link to encourage others to give as well inshallah. Every dollar will make a difference and will go through Penny Appeal Canada. Funds contributed are zakat-eligible and will be used to provide food parcel distribution to needy families, financial support for widows & orphans, and much needed medications and procedures for those who are ill and in need of medical attention.
