As a kidney donor myself, I know firsthand the pain, fear, and challenges that come with battling kidney disease. Seven years ago, I donated my kidney to my sister, and through that experience, I saw the true reality of a family struggling with illness. What I didn’t know at the time was that Allah SWT had a greater plan for me—to use my experience to help others facing the same struggles.
Two years ago, during what was meant to be a casual visit to Pakistan to meet a friend, I unexpectedly met a young girl, Kashaf, who was on dialysis and suffering from multiple health issues. Her story changed my life forever. Seeing her struggle with no proper treatment, no financial support, and no future made me realize the dire need for kidney care in rural Pakistan. Since that moment, I dedicated my life to learning, advocating, and taking action. I worked at DaVita, a leading dialysis center, to gain experience in kidney care. My sister and I then founded Voices for Kidney Patients, a nonprofit focused on awareness, prevention, and direct patient support. https://www.vfkp.org/
In rural areas like Sohawa, Punjab, kidney disease is rising at an alarming rate due to poor water quality, lack of awareness, and no access to dialysis centers. Many patients are suffering in silence because they cannot afford the $50 per session needed for dialysis. Without dialysis, they die.
Since founding Voices for Kidney Patients, I have been actively working on kidney health awareness and prevention programs in schools, colleges, and communities across Sohawa. Just last month, in January 2025, we organized our first-ever free Kidney Health Camp in collaboration with local health centers. We provided:
✅ Free kidney screenings and treatment for 126 patients
✅ Education on diabetes, high blood pressure, and early signs of kidney disease
✅ Brochures and resources sent to 4,000 households to spread awareness
✅ Engaged students in high schools and colleges through quizzes and interactive sessions
But this is just the beginning—the need is far greater than our resources can cover.
Currently, We are supporting 7 kidney patients by covering:
✔ Dialysis sessions
✔ Lifesaving medications
✔ Lab tests & specialist visits
✔ Nephrologist consultations & transportation
Many more patients are desperately waiting for support, but due to our limited budget, we cannot help them all. Right now, it’s just me and my sister running this nonprofit. We keep detailed patient records, track every bill, and ensure full transparency on where donations are spent.
When I travel to Pakistan, I pay for all my own expenses out of pocket—every dollar donated goes directly to patients.
One of our most urgent cases is Kashaf Fatima, the young girl I met two years ago. She recently underwent eye cataract surgery, and due to her heart condition, she requires monthly specialist visits. We are still supporting her and her family while hoping she will one day be approved for a kidney transplant.
The ultimate goal of Voices for Kidney Patients is to build a dialysis center in this underserved region. However, until our nonprofit receives full registration approval in Pakistan, we are focusing on:
📍 Expanding kidney health awareness camps deeper into rural areas
📍 Reaching every school and college in Sohawa by the end of this year
📍 Conducting a prevalence study on kidney disease in the region to present to health organizations and the government
The number of kidney patients I met in dialysis centers last year has already doubled. This problem is growing fast, and without action, more lives will be lost.
This Ramadan, I am asking for your support to cover the cost of care for kidney patients who cannot afford treatment.
💙 $25 – Covers a basic lab test to diagnose kidney disease early
💙 $50 – Provides weekly transport so a patient can reach dialysis
💙 $75 – Pays for lifesaving medications for a month
💙 $250 – Covers a full month of dialysis for a patient
💙 $1,500 – Provides a full year of dialysis and medical care
Every single dollar makes a difference—even $10 can help keep a patient alive.
Kidney disease is not just a problem in Pakistan—it’s a global crisis affecting millions in underserved rural areas. Many patients suffer in silence because they lack access to dialysis, medical care, and early prevention.
💙 Our bigger vision is to bring kidney health programs and dialysis centers to rural communities worldwide. But to do that, we must first create a model that works.
📍 Why Start in Sohawa?
✔ No existing dialysis center in the region – Patients must travel long distances, making treatment impossible for many.
✔ High kidney disease rates – Poor water quality and lack of prevention awareness are increasing cases every year.
✔ A foundation for global expansion – This center will be a scalable model for future projects in other rural communities.
By supporting this project, you’re not just funding one dialysis center—you’re helping create a solution that can expand globally.
📌 Be part of a global movement to bring kidney care where it’s needed most.
This is personal. As a kidney donor, I know the struggle firsthand. This nonprofit is built from lived experience.
We are transparent. Every donation is tracked, and patient records are maintained for accountability.
100% Zakat-Eligible. Your Ramadan giving can directly change lives.
No personal gain. When I travel to Pakistan, I fund my own expenses—your donations go entirely to the cause.
I cannot do this alone. I need your help.
📢 Donate. Share. Spread Awareness. If you cannot donate, please share this with your family and friends—the more people know, the more lives we can save.

Because of You, We’ve Made a Difference
As-salamu Alaykum,
I’m reaching out because I want you to know just how much your support has meant to this mission. This isn’t just another charity appeal—this is personal.
I recently returned from Pakistan, where I saw with my own eyes what your generosity has made possible. I met families who were struggling to get dialysis for their loved ones. I spoke with patients who would have lost hope if it weren’t for people like you. And I saw how, together, we are bringing real change.
✔️ For the first time ever, we brought a nephrologist to a dialysis center in Gujar Khan. After two years of effort, kidney patients in rural areas finally have access to specialized care.
✔️ 126 kidney patients received free medical treatment through our collaboration with Pakistan Kidney Center (Dr. Khalil Ur Rehman).
✔️ 4,000+ families learned about kidney disease prevention through awareness programs in schools and colleges.
✔️ We are sustaining 7 kidney patients with ongoing dialysis and medical care, but many more are waiting for help.
This is because of you—your kindness, your trust, and your willingness to be part of something bigger.
But right now, I have to be honest with you—more patients need urgent support, and we don’t have enough funds to help them all.
I met a mother who told me she wakes up every day wondering if she will have enough money for her son’s next dialysis session. That’s the reality for so many families. They need three dialysis sessions per week, at $50 per session, just to stay alive.
Your donation can be the reason someone lives to see another Ramadan.

Waqas is Now an Advocate—Help Us Keep Educating!
Dear Donors,
AsalamAlyakum
I wanted to share an amazing update with you. Waqas, one of the patients we’ve been helping, has turned his experience with kidney disease into a mission to raise awareness. He’s not just receiving support anymore—he’s becoming an advocate, helping spread the word and educating others about kidney health. His testimony is truly inspiring, as he uses his journey to empower others facing the same challenges. https://youtu.be/2rQqNSaKQbg
At Voices for Kidney Patients,we’re empowering patients like Waqas with the knowledge they need to understand and fight kidney disease. The more we can educate, the more we can make a real difference in their lives and communities.
But we can’t do this without your help. Your donation allows us to keep providing the resources and education that patients like Waqas need to continue spreading awareness.
Please support our cause and help spread the word by sharing it with others.

Protecting Kidney Patients from HIV – Your Support Needed
AsalamAlaykum Dear Donors,
I’m reaching out with a critical update regarding our mission to protect kidney patients from preventable infections.
Recent investigations into the HIV outbreak at Nishtar Hospital's dialysis ward in Multan have revealed alarming lapses in health protocols. The first HIV case was reported on October 11, 2024, and approximately 30 patients are suspected to have been affected. A fact-finding committee uncovered that the hospital failed to conduct mandatory HIV and hepatitis screenings on patients, with some tests overdue by more than a year. Compounding this negligence, inadequate sterilization of dialysis machines exposed patients to deadly infections like HIV. You can read more about this in the Dawn News article here.
We are introducing mandatory regular screenings for HIV for patients under our care. These proactive measures are vital to prevent such catastrophic outcomes. During my training with DaVita, I learned that infection prevention was heavily emphasized, comprising 70% of the curriculum. I am determined to implement these global standards with our patients.
This January, I’ll be traveling to Pakistan to initiate the first Kidney Health Screening events in Sohawa and surrounding villages. I invite you to visit our website to learn more about our ongoing projects: www.vfkp.org.
Your ongoing support will empower us to safeguard vulnerable kidney patients and ensure continuous improvements in dialysis care for underserved communities. Kindly share and donate to our campaign.
JazakAllahu Khairan,
Naima Khan
Watch Our First Documentary Series | Waqas' Journey and Stories of Kidney Patients
Asalamualaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh
Dear Supporters,
Your support is making a real difference in the lives of kidney patients like Waqas in rural Sohawa and Gujar Khan.
In this first episode of our series, we highlight Waqas' journey and the urgent need for nephrologists to visit these underserved areas. Your donations will continue to help us cover the costs of travel, lab tests, medications, and nephrologist visits for dialysis patients.
We also dream of establishing a dialysis center in this region and very close to bringing nephrologists to come and provide care. Insha'Allah!
Your kindness can help provide the care and support they urgently need. Please consider donating today and be a part of this life-changing journey.
JazakAllahu Khairan for standing with us in this important mission.
To Allah we belong and to Him we shall return.
إِنَّا لِلّهِ وَإِنَّـا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعونَ
To Allah we belong, and to Him we shall return.
It’s with a very heavy heart that I share the passing of Mr. Raja Saeed due to health complications.
Mr. Saeed was the first person to truly believe in me and the mission of Voices for Kidney Patients. When I started this journey I wasn’t sure where it would take me but Mr. Saeed saw potential in me from the very beginning. He allowed me to conduct my research at his dialysis center in Gujar Khan. He had confidence that I could bring a nephrologist to his center to help his patients and he made sure I was always supported.
I remember visiting him this May. He told his staff, “Whatever she needs, make sure it’s taken care of,” and he meant it. He didn’t want me to face any obstacles in my work and that’s the kind of person he was generous, caring, and always looking out for others.
The dialysis center in Gujar Khan was the only one in the surrounding areas that served so many who had nowhere else to turn. He was deeply respected and loved by his patients. He was so proud of the work we were doing, especially when I told him we were able to take seven patients for lab tests and nephrology consultations, thanks to donor support. He shared that news with everyone and I could see how happy he was.
Losing him feels like losing one of the pillars of my work. His guidance was a big part of my success and I know I wouldn’t be where I am without him. I promised him that I would continue working to bring nephrologists to his center and his village and I’m determined to see that through no matter the challenges.
May Allah (SWT) elevate his rank, reward him for all the good he did, give patients to his family and loved ones and allow his legacy to continue. Ameen.
With respect and heavy hearts,
Naima Khan
Thank You Message from Kasha Fatima and her Family
AsalamAlaykum
Dear Donors,
I hope you're doing well. I wanted to share a personal note from Kashaf Fatima and her family. As many of you know Kashaf is 14 years old and has been undergoing dialysis made possible by your generous support through LaunchGood. In her letter she expressed heartfelt thanks for the help that has allowed her to receive treatment and stay healthy even through tough times.
Kashaf is still battling an infection and continues dialysis three times a week. Through it all she’s staying positive and now being homeschooled where she spends her time doing what she loves most—drawing and creating art.
JazakAllahu Khairan for your kindness. Your donations have truly made a difference for Kashaf and her family and we’re all incredibly grateful.
Sincerely,
Naima & Ayesha

Heartfelt Condolences for Yasir Ayub
Dear Donors and Supporters,
It is with deep sorrow that we share the news of Yasir Ayub's passing. Inna Lillahi wa Inna Ilayhi Raji'un (Indeed, we belong to Allah and indeed to Him we will return). Yasir was one of the seven patients whose medical expenses are fully covered by Our Voices for Kidney Patients. Yasir, 43 years old and living in Sohawa, Pakistan, passed away today from an infection that spread in his new fistula. Regardless of our best efforts, the lack of timely treatment led to this heartbreaking outcome.
Yasir was not only a patient but also a devoted father and husband. His passing leaves a significant loss in his family’s life and in our hearts. We extend our deepest condolences to his loved ones during this difficult time.
Your generous donations ensured Yasir had access to essential nephrologist appointments, lab tests and medications. Unfortunately, the lack of emergency dialysis in Sohawa worsened his condition.
Your continued support is crucial. We have more patients waiting for support who urgently need access to care.
Please consider making a donation to help us fight against kidney disease
.
May Allah grant Yasir Jannat al-Firdous and give patience and strength to his family.
JazakAllahu Khairan!

Impact Update: Hepatitis Case Diagnosed Thanks to Your Support
Dear Donors,
As-Salaamu Alaykum
I hope this message finds you well. Your contributions have enabled us to provide comprehensive support to kidney patients. Through your generosity, patients have been able to visit nephrologists, undergo essential laboratory tests, access vital medications and also relieve the burden of transportation costs. During these visits lunch arrangements were made for patients ensuring they are comfortable throughout the day.
I also want to share that we were able to diagnose a case of hepatitis C and prevent the spread of infection to other patients. This critical importance of early detection and intervention made it possible through your continued support.
See the impact of your donations on a short clip featuring pictures from our recent visits. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hW6oip5fdQA
There is a major need for support that remains critical for kidney patients in rural communities. There are still many kidney patients in rural communities who require assistance. In these blessed 10 days of Dhul Hijjah, Please consider donating today to make a difference in their lives.
